I was wondering about how set-up the show really is? I was out yesterday and my friend was like yeah its all faked and he felt a bit down about it. I know like one actor is used, but is it worst then that? or is that the worse who am i to know?

In the first series several people who have acting backgrounds were used on the show. It makes sense for a few reasons. If your on the first season of the show all you want is a second season. Actors are great at memorizing lines and scripts like the Mystery Method so you'll get better results.
#2 Most of those people are trying out for the shows in order to start their acting careers. Many reality TV shows have actors on them.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it was "Fake" but the first season was a little more hand picked. The second you had to vote on a website for who went then they narrowed it down from there. There isn't much on the 2nd season to say it was rigged.
Plus you know it works, I know the method works, many others know it works, so why does it really matter what they do for TV. That's just for money and to feed Mystery's personality, as he "speerheads" this cultural evolution as he'd say. |

Oh ok,
I was just curious to know about it, as being in Britain we dont have it here (well not on unpaid for TV). Thinking about it, it does make sense, but complete newbies or even worse would be better in my opinion as then they would actually have to work; many actors have a good frame for example already, where as WBAFC's or AFC's who clean bins for a living (as an example dont kill me) wont?

I really think the show was authentic.....The contestants were pretty big likeable douche bags.....
It took them quite a while to progress on the show.... |

there are target rich grocery stores
if i go to let's say an Albertsons or a Ralphs here there's not alot of targets. But, there are markets here in LA that have alot of younger crowd.
i know in the LA area there are alot of young women that shop at Trader Joes. they sell specialty items and organic foods. also at farmers markets you can always find a younger crowd coming to check out the different vendors.
i don't know the name of the market they went to but it's very possible that they were authentic. i can't say for sure bc i was not associated with the making of TPUA but you get the picture.
----
one thing i always picked up on was they say, "There are no paid actors in the club" but if you play on words they didn't actually say "Paid Actresses."
either way, i liked the show. it is what actually got me jumpstarted into the PU world. after watching TPUA i went out to buy MM and The Game. it definitely served an important role in my growth.
when i try to teach my AFC buddies about pickup, i usually have them watch TPUA first. |
