I tried these two openers out last weekend- both variations of the opinion opener. Since I showed up at the bars with a mixed crowd I couldn't use the 'I need a female prospective' - so I just spin it and say 'I need an outside option'- In general I don't like using the 'female prospective' card because it triggers a subliminal message that you don't have a whole bunch of women you could call at any time and ask there opinions of an issue. The only time I'll use 'female prospective' as an open is if I'm shopping without a girl already handy.
So- here they are:
"would you date one of your mothers coworkers" you can then launch into a story of how your Mom introduced you to this person she works with and you guys talked for a while and she gave you her number and now your wondering if you should ask her out- will it be weird if you start dating, what if it doesn't work out- after a few minutes toss in 'and my mom's her boss to which makes the whole situation even more strange'....
also,
"if you had the opportunity to date your high school sweetheart again would you do it" and explain how you broke up when you went to collage and didn't talk for a bunch of years and then out of nowhere you ran into each other and when out for lunch and now your unsure if you should take it any further...
I like both of these openers for the following reasons:
1- the open does not become about you hitting on the target, helps to lower bitch shield. But also lets her know that you are available and dating.
2- DHV right off the bat- you are desirable, girls are going out with you, giving you there number. You have a lot of options and don't just jump at the first thing that comes your way- you think about your choices.
3- gives them drama- for more openers just watch a few episodes of Melrose place, pick a situation and insert yourself into it- then ask the targets how you should get yourself out of it |
