and i think i've taken that step. i've gone out a few times, i work in a high traffic environment with opportunities to meander about and interact with random people. i've started doing just that. first/hardest step checked off! now comes that moment when i need to finally start developing my own style. and first thing i see is my appearance. well, i'm fasion dead. no joke. i haven't the slightest clue about what looks good, either on guys or girls. i've been the t-shirt and jeans kind of guy my whole life, with a brief interlude into sweats in middle school, and black towards the end of highschool into college. now i work in a bank, at least for now, and wear a noose and cuffs every day. all of which were picked out by having previously worked for eddie bauer and got a 50% discount on. sooooo, i have no clue.

i have an idea of where to start, and a good one i think to practice approaching, with an easy opener. what do you think?
"So let me get your opinion, i have this party i'm going to for new years and my best clothes are lost in holland. what would you pick out for me to wear?"
same can be used for cologne and jewlwery. i've never really worn any, and i've read the "which do you prefer" opener in several threads. but as for a hairstyle, there's an infinate number of possibilities here, and once again i'm fasion dead. i know sometimes outrageous hairstyles can get a lot of attention, but working in a profesional environment this just doesn't work. anyone out there ever figure out a good way to get a wide variety of opinions without placeing all your hopes in the hands of a single stylist?
i know that it's important to define my own style, and with time i'm sure i will, but i truly have no background on which to base anything, and not enough money just now to be overhauling a wardrobe 2-3 times a month stumbling through differant styles to see what finally works. any pointers are greatly appreciated.
