tend to freeze up in this situation...need assistance

Ok, so I was out drinking w/ some of the crew last night. I decided the bartender was about an HB6 and wanted to approach. We exchanged the usual bartender/drinker pleasantries. I (unknowingly) negged her by saying she seemed new. By unknowingly, i mean that after she served my first round she started telling me she worked there for a year and a half w/ an "are you stupid look" (this a form of shit test/validation seeking?). This is the first instance I locked up. All I could say was "oh, okay, very cool. I haven't been out for a while" (incorrect response?). Afterwards, I made her smile w/ some stupid joke I'll normally make. Then she made another round and added one more to the order for herself. I was shocked and said it was ok b/c I locked up AGAIN. Looking for a way out I decided to bar bet proposition her for the last drink. She said "no, I'm not dumb." I locked up again and answered "ok, respect. (looking to my friend) She's smart."

She ended up not charging me for the last drink. Which is good for my bank account, but not sure how it landed with her.

Either way, I'm just looking for help on responses to avoid locking up. And if she was truly shit-testing/validating herself to me.

Umm no not a great response at all LOL, its make it sound like you've been hiding in a dark room for the past 6 months or have just been released from the funny farm.

If i cant think of a witty thing to say just laugh and then say somethin after.
By laughing it gives me time to think of a good reply without pausing & you come accross as unfazed by what they said, an like a your a fun easy-going character.
Just remember not to care so much, she has to win you

Haha. I know. That's why i need the help! I guess next time I'll just say I've been hanging out in the yuppie sector of downtown. You think that'll work? Also, what're some of the material you reply with?

A good thing to do is write a list of the most common shit tests and comments women say and write down your answers and replies next to them, try to remember them so next time a woman says this you'll already know what to say. Check out the 'shit test practice thread' and there some other good one's on the site.
When you hear a new one just add it to your list. And then soon you'll be batting their shit tests out the park.

It was in newbie questions.
It should still be on the first page, if not it will be on second.
If you still cant find it try using the search.

Also theres some other good threads nocking about, look in building attraction and you should find some other shit tests and reponses.
