Personnaly, i'd go for a skinny fit, but regardless a suit that fits well is an absolute must unless you want to look like a complete chump.
Ideally you'd have it tailored, but by shopping around (and by buying trousers & jacket separetely), you should be able to find something that looks sharp.

See image below for an example of what I mean:

Can't go wrong with black, dark grey or navy...

Difference between a regular fit, and a skinny fit suit:

Regular fit (well fitted):

Skinny fit (well fitted too):

Better to buy them at the same time otherwise you risk the colors not matching up which is bad when it comes to suits. If you are doing a sports jacket then it won't matter as much.

Yes.
but what I meant was: some shops will sell suit jacket and suit trousers separately (to ensure both are the right fit for you), whereas others will just sell them together based on your chest measurement (which gives you a very bad approximation of your trouser size).
Basically, you want to be able to mix and match sizes, while still buying the same 'model' to ensure the fabric & colors match)

Can i go off topic for just a sec guys? Where / What places to you sarge at where you would normally be opted to wear a suit?
street, coffee shops, bars, shops, museums, supermarkets... pretty much anywhere you might stop on the way back from work.

Much more seldom in clubs though.

btw, here's how I like to wear my black suit when I go out daygaming or in bars:

Blue shirt out, no tie, dark blue semi-casual shoes...

Alternatively, I do the classic 'hitman' look: white shirt/black tie/dress shoes
