First, I do not yet consider myself anything close to a pick up artist. In fact, if I have learned anything from this forum it is that the best game comes from authenticity.

I tried canned openers and off base chat, but as the owner of a personal training company, I realise my strength lies in fitness. Both my own and for others. So far, I have found most of my limited success by simply chatting up girls about their diet and workout. Women are always seeking to lose weight, so this is a topic that goes on for miles.

As far as it relates to our game however, physical fitness evokes higher value. Im not saying you have to live in the gym, but at least work out in one from time to time.

With this in mind, I would like to offer the public service of an ongoing question and answer thread for bodybuilding/fitness related pick up. I can answer your questions about diet, fitness and how to build your body to build your social stature.

In return, any pointers you can offer here about picking up girls in the gym, disarming alpha males, etc will do all of us a world of good.

I also offer online training and fitness plans, so feel free to learn more about me at [link] and let the questions commence.

Ok fellow pick up artists,

Sup man , i totally agree that fitness is helpful. Often times regular excersize helps simply because it puts endorphins in u and builds your confidence. Anyway i waned to ask u what best workouts might fit my body type. I am About 5' 6" and 128 pounds. I would like to add roughly 8-10 pounds of muscle to my frame and lose 1-2 pounds of fat. I have a busy schedule but do have a gym membership and am just asking for what excersizes you would consider most eficient to this end. -thnx

First off you need dedication and time if you want to lose some weight and get some muscle. First you need to focus on dieting which would basically include the obviously healthier foods and cardio. Running for a half-hour every day would be a start. After losing those 1-2 pounds, you said you wanted to gain 8-10 pounds of muscle. This would require you to have a complete workout schedule with 6-8 meals a day. Eating foods such as eggs, nuts, oats, rice, steak, beef, chicken, pasta, tuna , veggies (fresh), milk, protein shakes.
Ideally, you would want your protein to be 1g = 1lb (of your weight) If you can spare 1-2 hours at your gym 3-5 days a week with solid commitment than you can achieve that goal. If you are interested send me a pm, I may be able to help you.

By the way...I started working out to gain confidence and it has helped. Especially at the beach Very Happy DON"T TAKE STEROIDS PLEASE

Ok fellow pick up artists,

I respect you. I'm also a personal trainer and a bodybuilder. I've noticed that girls love men who have definition and are bulky.

So, if anybody else needs help with fitness management, you guys can talk to me, too.

It's not about balancing.

It depends on how you use your form. If your form's bad, you're gonna get bad results. Change your form and make your form near perfection. Once you have this done, you'll get even through time.

It takes effort like gettin' girls naked. lol

should be lifting weights at least 3x a week and cardio at least 1x a week.

Set a schedule, write it out on a calendar, and STICK TO IT. Find a cardio activity you like doing, it doesn't have to be running. It can be biking, hiking up a mountain, full court basketball, etc..

Great thread..

Develop your chests and arms guys. No better way than with simple push ups you can do in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

These make it easier, are relatively inexpensive and come with a program to boot. They also store easily.

Here's an article I did on another website reviewing the various push up devices on the market. There are also sample routines, and suggestions on another thread in the same room.

I was told you're supposed to develop everything equally. Not just upper body.

Some things go without saying..

Develop whatever you have time and money to develop. If that involves spending $1000 on a Bowflex, or hiring a personal trainer and spending 4 hours a day working all your body parts equally and drinking protein shakes 24/7 then have at it.

You're right. It seems pointless for a guy to be 50 lbs. overweight, or have been the equivalent of a jelly donut, etc.. for most of his life, then develop what looks like man boobs by doing push ups. But then one has to start somewhere. And nothing like seeing results in the mirror to acquire a little motivation. On the other hand, if you're skinny as a rail and wont eat, you can do push ups until the cows come home and although you'll gain some strength you'll still be an emaciated looking dude in the eyes of most women.

You should definitely do some cardio, walking or running, etc.. And follow a decent balanced diet in moderation. Pull ups are another very good exercise to add to push ups. See my link to find an article on pull ups for those those who can't do any.

But if you're short on time like most people and are in relatively decent shape, and weight and want the most bang for the buck then no better single exercise at building your upper body than the push up in conjunction with an intelligent workout plan.

Women notice.

My point was, being in decent shape doesn't mean you have to be excessive about it, or neglect other aspects of your life to pursue it.

Most people don't do anything to speak of. Or go about it in a haphazard way for a while then quit, failing to integrate it into their long term lifestyle.

That can be almost as bad as nothing at all, which seems to be your rationalization. Like you either pursue a fitness program like your entering Mr. Universe or it's not worth doing. That's of course, IMO quite ridiculous.

6 minutes a day of push ups, 3 times a week can make a radical change in your appearance, upper body strength and your confidence.

Those who want a good push up program to follow for any fitness level, and that takes a few minutes a day 3 times a week are free to pm me.

Health, vitality and fitness are the most important things behind: confidence and purpose in life.

To be healthy and in shape... is important in all areas of life, and it shows that you are, in fact, someone who cares about your life.

Maybe you can help me out with some info regarding a "sports" injury. I got shin splints which turned into a minor stress fracture. I was in Iraq at the time, so not running was not an option (unless you wanted to die). I've done everything that most doctors tell you to help the healing process, and changed my foot gear, running style, etc. I am considerably faster now, but it bothers me still. Not as debilitating as it was down range (I'm home now), but still bothersome. I wrap it up, take aspirin, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lucid, do the one meal a day plan.. Basically this is whatever you want to eat once per day. Like breakfast, have at it. That's your one meal so make it a good one. Same for lunch/dinner.

With a walking, basketball or running program depending upon your interests..

The rest of the day eat lite, or snack on low cal or unprocessed foods. Celery, carrots, bananas, nuts, cereal, salad, are all great meal substitutes. And take a multi vitamin daily.

You should also do some upper body routine. Push ups and pull ups are very good and require very little equipment and no gym membership, etc...

A couple of very good push up products on the market..

The perfect push up, the push up pro, and the strength builder (do a Google search to find them). And they don't cost an arm an a leg.

It's possible to find a pull up bar on most campuses, etc.. or buy a door mounted one. If you can't do many pull ups at your current weight, latex bands are available that can help you do pull ups (pm me if interested and I'll steer you in the right direction).

You can do crunches for ab work if desired, or buy an ab board, etc..

A few minutes a week of upper body work, and an hour or two of cardio work and a decent diet can provide incredible benefits and can literally reshape or tone your body to a very acceptable level by this spring.
