I have not tried any canned approaches yet. I find that I am doing quite well on situational approaches. Some examples of my success have been approaching a girl reading a book that I knew a little about and commenting on a girls tattoo or t-shirt.

I would like to be able to approach a girl and start talking to her without a situation presenting itself. By a situation I mean she is just walking or sitting somewhere and I have nothing to leverage off. I saw this very pretty girl exit a bookshop just as I was entering. I scanned her for something to work with but I just couldn't find anything. I'd hate to lose opportunities just because I didn't have anything to say.
