Montreal noob here, serious problems with eye contact

Instead of just introducing myself though, I just wanna add that I have some kind of repulsion to eye contact. Literally. It feels like every time I make eye contact with anyone (m & f) there's some kind of magnetic force pushing my eyes away. Making eye contact feels very fake/unnatural when I force myself to do it, and it feels like I just make both of us uncomfortable in the process. The person tries to wrap up their story, or look away, or whatever. I don't stare at them non-stop or anything, I'll break contact every now and then to seem less threatening, but it still feels "wrong". For the record I've been like this all my life, since I was a kid. I never made eye contact with anyone, and I wasn't really a shy kid. I dunno, it just feels so "fake" to me. Anyone feel the same way? Wtf am I supposed to do? This seems like one of those fundamental things I'm supposed to get straight before throwing myself into the game. FZ

Gerby1990 New to PUA Forum Joined: 19 Oct 2009 Posts: 5 Location: Netherlands Reputation: 1	Posted: Tue Nov 03, 2009 9:16 pm    Post subject: ey man, i know exactly how awkward eyecontact can feel, i think its one of those things that dont work unless you're genuinely attracted or interested in the person you are talking to. however, it often feels like its too much of an intrusion on other people's comfort zone. the only time i didnt find it awkward was when there was this girl i really fancied in school who suddenly started making eyecontact, and since i really liked her i didnt mind at all. i know it can feel uncomfortable but i dont think it's fake, to me the make-up, trendy clothes, the dyed hair are fake. eyes are pretty much the only thing not fake if u think about it. might not be too helpful cuz i'm not sure how to deal with this since i used to feel the same awkwardness as you do most of the time, although at some point (the incident with this girl at school) i realized how warm it cán feel. it just doesnt happen as often as i like... greetings, Gerben
