That's right, I was assigned a project to go out and meet new people as homework. I need to answer these questions: "Why do people have social fears (i.e AA)" and"Why are so many people awkward/nervous when they first meet new people?". I actually chose this topic myself and now I have an excuse to go out and "experiment".
What I really want to know is your opinion on those two above questions. I mean, everyone gets approach anxiety, but where does it come from?
Some people say that we were programmed to "fear" beautiful women/new people etc. due to our ancestor's programming. Some people say that it's becuase we are afraid of risks...
What's your take on this? |

Okay I can't believe this , My english teacher just let me a smiliar homework last week , I needed to sit in a place and watch social dynamics, how people interact , etc...

Humans are borned with certain characteristics and one is called memory, This memory is used to store events , names , etc....
What happen when your see fire and you get burned ? Next time you see fire , your mind will remind you the pain you felt last time.
Now what happen when you take a risk and you fail, You feel bad , you feel insecure you doubt about yourself, and what does your mind makes, The memory creates a memory about what happen and how you felt , so whenever your going to take a risk (Go for a girl , with the risk of you failing) Your mind will bring up that memory, That is one part.
In the other hand we have the Social Pressure. People are afraid to be rejected.
People is afraid of being judged , thats why people are so shy the first time, They dont want to be hurted, thats why PUA build comfort, so the girl will feel good , relaxed next to you, Without these feeling of fear. People allways hear that the first impression count a lot , Yeah it does but thats not a real reason for our AA , the fear comes because your putting yourself in a place where your in great risk of being hurt , humiliated , judged, and that the social rejection fear, thats what your mind is trying to avoid.
People are afraid to be humiliated in public, thats why you are afraid to approach a SHB, because there is a risk , there is a chance of failing and to be humiliated in public , to be rejected. Humans hate Rejection , that is just nature.
But , Don't You love to overcome that fear; I DO. |
