When I go to a big party, I like to have 2-3 drinks to loosen up. 2-3 drinks will loosen me up enough and get rid of any anxiety to be able to go up to groups and talk without worrying about them judging me or anything. However, I have read that alcohol makes you sloppy and impairs your PUA skills, and I think it's totally true. What do you do to get rid of any anxiety when walking into a huge crowd?

Try having one drink on a somewhat empty stomach. You can sip on it and it should affect a person in the slightest, just taking the edge off. One or two drinks after eating should not impair you very much.

Another thing I find reduces anxiety is exercise. Workout, shower, then sarge. Or better yet, workout, sarge at the gym, and shower with a new friend! Wink
Honestly, a few things that take the edge off for me:

a cigarette (im not a smoker, so one takes me wayyyyy down off my jitters)

a tasty beer (plus gives you a topic of conversation if it's a micro-brew!)

doing pushups until failure (working out releases endorphines just like...)

eating something very spicy (capsaicin, the active ingredient in spicy foods, is known to release endorphines, making you feel happier, more confident, and at ease)

and finally, controlled yoga breathing. this is the best thing i learned from my semester in yoga last year. breathe in DEEPLY (full capacity and then some). As you are doing this, puff out your stomach, filling your belly with air. hold it... 1..2...3...4..5.. release slowly, sucking your stomach and waist tight as you exhale. do this a few times, should calm you down. helps me sleep a lot too, or relax before giving a speech in class.

becoming aware of your heartbeat is an awesome feeling. it makes you feel in total control of your body. you can feel it racing when you exercise, and if you learn to control your breathing (like i explained) you can slow it down. this is great for your nerves and has saved me from actually having a hyperventilation/panic attack during a marine corps 3-mile fit test run. for an event where the goal is to push myself until i projectile vomit at the end, learning to be in complete control of my cardiovascular system was invaluable. just think of how much it could help out the little things in your life.

You just need to drink something the resembles a drink. Nobody cares if your drinking really it's all about being a part of the herd. If your drinking your like all the good party boys and girls doing everything "right". Girls usually drink only a small amount. You'll game better, and not come across like a drunk. I get water at the club, and nobody notices.

Haha I do the same shit. I mean I always wondered how you can pull off drinking anything else but alcohol. But then you find out that no body really cares!

For the first time in months, I went out stone-cold sober last night, and it was one of the most successful nights I've ever had. What I did to get in the mood is pretty simple: I started acting like an alpha male from the moment I woke up that day. I hope that with enough of this 'acting', it will eventually become totally natural.
Basically, a while ago I made a mental list of things I need to stop doing. they include the follwing:
-Biting my lip.
-Staring at my feet if I make eye contact with a girl.
-Fidgeting.
-Constantly changing position when I'm sitting.
-Folding my arms.
You get the idea.
The I practiced not doing these things, the more natural it became. When I walked into the bar last night, I owned the place. I may not have been the best-looking or the best dressed guy there, but I was one of the most sober, and one of the most confident. I saw some people I knew with a group I didn't know at all, comprised mainly of girls. I went over to my friends, said hi, owned the place, immediately established myself as alpha, and proceeded to jump straight into conversation with th girls I didn't know.

Basically, to summarise, what got me relaxed and confident was the fact that I was sober. I knew I was exuding genuine confidence rather than drunken confidence. I also knew that if I had been drinking, I woulnd't have owned the place when I walked in; I would have gone straight for the bar with one mission only: MOAR DRINK.

You work on your beliefs and you eliminate totally all the things that make you feel like this..and next you automatically behave how you want.
