I've been becoming a better person in life because of the art of pick up. Its brought me to learning self help and i am grateful for that. One problem i have right now is that I don't really know how to give opinions. We were having a discussion in class and we would get in a big circle and give opinions about if an issue was right or wrong and why. probably 1/4 of the class spoke up, and i was one of the 3/4 that stayed quiet. Also whenever it comes to saying when something is cool or awesome, I am uncertain if people are like "w t f? that shit is gay!" ---> also for when it comes to music that comes up or clothes in a magazine. I haven't been this cool person since the beginning I am now during my life, but i still am missing some parts. My question is how do i get pass this?, Do i need to risk getting rejected when saying what is cool or not, what is right or wrong?Or do i just go in boldly and not care. Is this another skill i need? that i need to go past my comfort zone slowly? Thanks guys this has really been bugging me.

Easy, don't care. Take confidence in what you believe is right and your belief. It sounds too easy, but its just that. Give your opinion and if someone disagree's. Who cares? It only affects you as much as you let it.
I'm an opinionated person. I remember a Law class at University where I made an entire room (90 people) look like complete jackasses when I gave the only argument against their held belief. Why? Because I was confident in my answer, I was right, I backed it up, and I implied the original person with the held opinion was a overreacting moron.
I've also been wrong in front of 90 people. But I just respond "hmmm, ok." accept the way things are and still give opinions. |

You can give opinions, but don't mess up the social vibe and think you have to give an opinion on everything for the sake of giving an opinion. Just go with the flow of things. |

Oh yeah lol, don't worry i can vibe and not be like those bad examples on there. They remind me of some of the people i know and its so funny how i use to think they were all cool .. ppfffffttttttt hahahahah 
& thanks schaden! i sometimes need a reminder of that
i occasionally think of myself as uncool and it ruins me. I also sometimes think i'm worthless and a shitty person and i need to rid myself of the human race fuck me i hate it, i deserve torture. and just the first sentence is true |

| Dont worry about trying to be cool and such. Let someone state their opinion and respect them for it state yours it shows you have confidence in yourself and your are not a social robot. Just try not to get cocky and forcfull in your opinion. Just say how you feel on the subject manner and back your thoughts up with why you feel that way. |

| Just be mindful of who you are and what you like and dislike about the world around you. If someone asks your opinion GIVE IT TO EM! Don't give opinions to women when your first meet them of politically sensitive topics. Just avoid that stuff because most of it is nonsense anyways and has nothing to do with you to being together. Your opinion on something can give DHV spikes so think about that when someone asks you what you think next time. Thats your time to shine! |

the great thing about an opinion is that it belongs to you. you dont have to be afraid that your opinion is the unpopular one. hell sometimes its fun to have the less popular opion.. like holdens example..
props to holden.. i love when that happens!
on a second note.. what the hell is the definition of cool anyway? how is it that you know that your not actually the cool one when every one else is the complete tool? when you think of cool.. you are thinking that your not cool because cool is what everyone else thinks is cool.. in reality cool is solely a funtion of the individual.
i think cats are cool.. so i have a cat.. but my roomate thinks dogs are cool and cats are stupid. that doesnt make me any less cool. unless im not confident about my coolness.. either.. always keep humility in mind.
just dont be the opinionated asshole.. those are the people i like to get under their skin... but dont be afraid of your opions. |
