Is it me or are their loads of AFCs on these pages looking for advise on their one-itis? If you have a one-itis that your not trying to sort out (akaI really like her) then write to Oprah for relationship advise!PUAs that acknowledge they have a one-itis get rid of it by going out screwing some other girls, not asking how you can make her like you.
Bottom line is:people want what they can't have, if a woman knows that you want a relationship and she can easily have one with you she won't want one.If, however, she knows that it will be a challenge to have a relationship (aka you cheat on her a lot), she will actively try to convince you to stay exclusive to her by bribing you with hot sex and attention ect.
So all you AFCs that acknowledge your one-itis, by all means don't fix it, but don't go mad when she ignores you while SHES chasing a real man, like the Beakmoister! You've been warned

No it's not just you. It's a constant affliction to this forum, and I'm sure other forums that have as broad a user base as this one. Don't fret, one day they will figure it out as some of us did oh so long ago. I'm willing to bet that most of these guys are totally new to the pickup community and just don't know the methods of getting over a oneitis and/or just moving on.

As for making a girl think you are going to cheat, if it's an exclusive relationship(agreed on by both you and the girl) then I would have to disagree. Don't make her think you're cheating, but give off a vibe that says to her: "Yeah I could walk out any minute so don't lose my attention." or something along those lines.

I love this fourm. The main problem that i see is that there are tons of noobs who start one thread with their first post and expect answers to common questions that could be solved by just using the search function. It takes time to read a bunch of these posts and then post a response that may or may not get read. Alot of guys who post on here just want an answer to their question but are not willing to post in other peoples threads. So this takes time away from the puas and other members that need help who have been memebers longer.

Maybe if there is a 10-20 post minimum before starting a thread that would cut down on the multiple posts over the same subject.

It does get ridiculous, which is part of the reason I'm not as active here as I'd like to be. However, the large user base of this forum is an awesome asset, so you give a little, take a little.

The minimum seems like a good idea to me. It's gotten to the point that I won't even open anything started by someone I don't recognize unless it seems extraordinarily interesting, or I"m hella bored.

You're right. People should get over their One-Itis. But you should get over your lame-ass personality. You sound like such a douche. Period.

Every forum is full of questions the veteran members are sick of hearing. I am a member of and theres always people in there asking how do I pick master lock # whatever. So we always send them links to previous threads, or tutorials. Then theres always people asking questions that are unethical example:how do I pick my works vending machine for free soda
Here the stupid questions are how do I get with this girl I've been in the friend zone with for 6 months, or how do I get with this one super babe I see around campus when I'm a loser.
If people took the time to read the texts, and use the search, dumb questions would disappear, but honestly I don't think the forum vets have room to complain. If they don't want to help Mr.Nice guy get over the girl, or get her, then they should just stick to giving field and lay reports.

I really like this forum, and I am learning a lot from it. So I thank the members that take the time to educate me. You guys are great. Honestly besides this thread I haven't noticed very much flaming of the n00bs here, Which is encouraging.

Im not flaming noobs at all. I am one myself. Ive got over 200 posts, but have only started maybe 10 threads. My personal feeling is that if there is a post minimum before starting a thread it will make the newer members have to read through the forums more and make posts before posting a thread asking the same redundant questions over and over. Their question might even be answered by reading some of the older posts. It might promote thread jacking, but at least there wont be 20 new posts a week on one-itus.

There are also several "ask pua" threads that give newer members the opportunity to ask questions directly to the puas. There is a myspace thread, but there still ends up being a dozen posts a week asking the same myspace question. I understand everyone has their own unique situation and question but alot of threads could be cut down if newer members would just search and post in threads that already address their quesitons.

Alright, I can see that I'm getting a bit of a grilling here from some of you more patient guys.I'd consider myself a noob on these forums as well so I'm not out to pick on new guys.
What I'm pissed about is that people are asking the same questions over and over again, and most of those answers are covered in the basic material as well as the many books (ie. The Game), which most of us have took the time to read before we start posting.
So thanks to those who agree with me (See Kay your the man), and all the rest of you potential agony aunts (including the guy who branded me a "douche"), just click on my rep and take away.Easy.

Gentlemen,

There are a million new guys looking for answers. Yeah, it gets annoying that they don't automatically come to a forum knowing the whole deal, but I'm more annoyed by the 600 threads complaining about the new guys asking one-itis questions.

I encourage/challenge all of the forum veterans to
1.) not flame the new guys or each other (calling someone a douche really gets you nowhere, does it?)
2.) offer constructive criticism (you can still keep your own caustic personality while doing this, I promise.)
3.) point the author of the 42342345th post on one-itis to a previous thread, tell them to read the "read first" thread in the newbie/introduction section, or tell them to be big boys and use the search tool.

The great thing about this community is that it has the potential to be a supportive environment. Flaming ruins the circle of trust and growth.

If you're looking to get past the same questions over and over again...the PMZ here is fantastic, and that's really where I go to get good information when I'm not moderating the open areas of this forum.

I'm gonna raise my hand here and admit to having been one of these people you're talking about...and recently too.

However, the way I see it, one-itis is largely, irrational. If you think about it, you're getting all loved up and obsessed over one girl, when really, the majority of the time, you don't know enough about them to justify feeling this way.

I'd say the only time you're justified in feeling that way is if you've been in a very long term relationship or marriage and it gets broken off for some reason that's not your fault. And even then, it's probably not justified 'cause it means the other half has done something to break it off and that shows them being different to who they were when you fell for them.

I would say that the great majority of the time, one-itis sufferers are also inexperienced in relationships and picking up girls. That's not true the whole time; it's not true for me, but for those that it is true for, it can be a confusing and frame-shattering time.

I know for me, though I wasn't inexperienced when seeking advice on Lioness, I was kind of lost, and certainly felt like my world would end without her. Irrational? Definately. There is absolutely no reason why I should have felt like that about her now I look back on it.

Solution? Sympathise with these guys, let them know we've been there too, and advise, lets not get arsey with them.

Though we know our advice will most likely fall on deaf ears, you never know, there could be the odd one that makes it through Wink

Oneitis, which I have had several times, but I am building quite the immunity for, has an anecdote. I am no pick up artist, but I do have a keen grasp on how to handle this disease.
I prescribe it here:

1. Ween off talking to your prize target

2. Change your clothing and hair style, perhaps your exercise and diet as well.

3. Get a couple girlfriends

4. Get into an extreme sport cause they have extreme stories
Alternative is travel a lot

5. Once all is accomplished, start talking to prize target again. You have 3 girlfriends, your well dressed, in better shape, and your full of emotionally impacting stories. As long as you act like a new man, you can get her if you couldn't before.

6. Get over her, cause now your life is so much better, your value is higher than hers, and you don't need to date her.

Great post kodierer.

Zip - I agree with the no bashing. Its very counter productive. This is the first thread i have seen about this, so i really wanted to get my thoughts across. Some of the other forums im on will not let memeber post new threads until they reach 100 posts or have spent a certain amount of time on the board. I really think that a member should have a 15 minimum post count before they have the ability to post a thread. This will let them search and find topics on questions that they may have. Also i have noticed dozens of threads go un posted on. This will also promote more posting on threads that do not get any attention or replys. This may also promote more conversation among the memebers. Besides 15 posts is not that many. I think ive done that just today. Smile

I will take a step back and apologize for calling you out Beaker. It's just that the name of this thread title seems so arrogant, and your original post didn't help much either.

I have a tendency to speak in the heat of the moment for what I believe in. And fortunately, I have always been successful with relationships and pick-up, so I try to share my knowledge by defending and advising those who are trying to better their lives in this regard.

I will admit, the half-dozen threads a week on One-Itis do get annoying, but as Zip pointed out, there is no need to flame on those who are new to this forum. Likewise, there is no need to flame existing members either- hence my apology.

All though I could reason out potential flaws, I agree with See Kay's idea on having a post-minimum before starting a thread topic,. The reason I say this is that it takes some time to get properly acclimated to the forum. Therefore, it takes some time to figure out how to search the browser and find answers to such questions.

As far as One-Itis goes, I have great ways to help over come it. Or else, I also have some creative tactics that might help you game her (assuming you are tryng to get her back). If you are struggling with One-Itis, PM me and I might be able to help you out.

Hey, that's a great idea. I'm going to point this post out to Brad and see what he thinks.
