okay so my friend Big Time and i were at hookah bar a couple nights ago and we got there late (because that's what a couple of 18 year old guys can do on a saturday night considering we don't have fake ID's yet), but anyway we got there late, around 12:45-ish so there weren't many people there but i saw this HB about 7.5 in a one male two female three set and this being my first time i figured i should start low.
So anyway, my nerves were jumping off the wall. i'm not new to the game when there's a medium in which i've met the girl previously, but i SUCK at just going up to a random person and trying to pick her up. So he got me laughing and then i calmed down a bit so i decided to man up and go for it. this is basically how it went down.
me: So my friend an I were having this heated conversation about something really important and i really needed your guys' opinion. (pause)
i really need to know.. should you FLOSS BEFORE BRUSHING OR BRUSH BEFORE FLOSSING??
hb: she started busting up laughing.. so i took that as an IOI
male: blah blah blah
male's girlfriend: blah blah blah
me: see my friend thinks if you brush BEFORE you floss your breath will stink.. (then i negged the hb) I bet you brush before you floss dont you??
at this point everyone laughed.. even she was laughing. but then.. i hit a snag and choked, and by the time i thought of something good to say it was too late so i said "anyway thanks guys  " and walked back to my friend.
i seriously feel like i will never be scared to talk to random girls again. i know this isn't an original opener but i think it works a little better than "who lies more? men or women?" in this atmosphere if any of you have ever been to a hookah bar, i'm sure you know what i'm talking about.
but yeah, overall it was an interesting experience. |

| Sounds like you had that chick in the bag otherwise. Take it as a confidence booster that you can successfully make contact and try it again. |

I would look at this as a success. set goals for yourself, and start out small at first.
Set little goals for yourself
*tonight i'm going to open 10 sets
*tonight i'm going to open and hook my target <-- what you did, and where you stopped
*tonight i'm going to open and move to A2 (male to female intrest... DHV)
*tonight I'm going to move to A3 (female to male interest... qualification)
Thats why the MM is so great for the socially inept... each step is like a little building block, you can learn one block at a time, then just set a new block on top of it when your comfortable... |
