Spot on. You can't go wrong with a suit (or some good jeans, shirt and sports jacket if a full suit is over the top). Also, in winter, forget the anorak and invest on a good coat.

It's all up to you, it depends on the circumstances too. I wouldn't wear a suit on a weekend at a mall for example.

Women LOVE v-necks by the way, a lot of them wish they were dating men who wore them more often, especially if you have a good athletic build body.

I wear a lot of casual button up shirts with a nice pair of jeans and SHOES. Women love shoes themselves, so they will definitely notice yours. Get a nice pair of sneakers like Converse or some casual suede shoes.

So many variables with fashion and so little info from the OP.

If you are an entrepeneur , a suit would nicely complement who you are.

If you are a punk rocker, then a suit is a no no.

The OP needs to pick a stereotype and dress the best for that stereotype.

The big universal tips with fashion/style is , get them fitting perfect, (get them tailored if you have to)don't over do the colours, pick ones that complement each other, keep things simple.

This is a simple quick and versatile look that can work in formal and casual setting. Was gonna rolll sleeves up and reveal my matching brown strap watch.

Yes it is a pic of me, and i do get complimented on my style often and get success as a result, especially on the sock-less look that us Brits like.

what will impress the girl depends on her framework ... in words what SHE believes is high value and high status. if she is a 18/19 girl at uni she might think some $200 true religion jeans and a diesel leather jacket is the sexiest thing, if you she is a 29 year old barrister she might think a pinstriped double breasted suit al a Gordon gecko is sexy.

Personally I wear tailored sports jackets (some bespoke) usually with stone or navy chinos, with English made traditional leather shoes, T&A shirts .. but that's more because I like the mayfair 'hedge fund manager look' , I'm in my late 20s and have made some cash-ola over the last few years :P
