Do you tell women what you do or where you work, or do you lie about it?
I look like I would be a fighter, a bartender, or a stripper.. I don't fit the image of someone getting a Ph.D. in chemistry.. And when I tell women that, they usually don't believe me anyway. So why bother?
I have mixed emotions about this. WHen I initially meet a woman, and go through all the C/F routines everyone else does, I think she has this mental picture of me (as a fighter, or stripper, or maybe fireman, lol).. When she asks what I do, and I tell her I'm getting my doctorate in chemistry, part of me thinks it wrecks the sort of mental image she had of me. Besides, it's not a very exciting thing to "be."
On the other hand, some women who are a little older, more educated, and in professional careers really dig the Ph.D. thing... A few have told me that is the reason they became attracted..
So what? Take this on a case by case basis?
What do you guys do? |

| Whatever your occupation is, it should always be handled the same way. You NEVER give a girl you're gaming that info right up front, and NEVER w/o her earning it. Period. Then, when you DO decide she's earned it, you should word it for impact. Don't just come out and say "I"m a chemist." BLAH. Make it have impact. Make it stir her emotions. "Well, you know that burger you're eating . . . I make the chemical that makes it smell good so that you want it." |

Nice post. Also adding to this you should kinda give a idea of how you came to be in your profession. I do that and find it works really well. I'm a teacher girls seem to think thats sexy. It's nothing crazy but hot girls like it. I dunno why I guess I remind them of the one the had a crush on in elementary school. |

| Hey, I love that one by L.A. Tripp(lol). If there's a time when it really counts to beat around the bush, it's now. I usually let it marinate(the question of occupation). But frankly, I always lie about my occupation. Well not a lie but just a exaggeration. |

| nice stuff LA. I play poker for a living but I don't actually tell most girls because I've learned that they don't like it too much. When I do tell them, they usually mention the concept of bluffing (lying) and that leads me right into the 5 questions routine from The Game. |
