So I just started law school. My friend just started med school at the same college. She (my friend) has taken me out to the med school functions a few times, and there is this one girl that I really want to make a move on. She is a gorgeous blonde very effervescent personality. She is usually at these med school functions and has a mini clique within the med school clique of mostly really attractive girls. So my friend knows her but isn't exactly in that clique so I don't know how much she could talk me up reasonably.

So I was at a bar with the med school students recently and the cute blonde came and sat at my table right beside me because someone had taken her seat at her table. So I introduced myself, told her I knew my friend and that I am in the law school here. The conversation went ok, but the problem was that I was at a table with like 3 other med students, a couple of which were alpha male guy types. They had inside med school jokes and conversation going on and it was hard for me to break into the conversation and stand out. When she left she put her hand on my shoulder and said it was nice to meet you, I hope to see you again soon and then left.

Sorry for the long description, but does anyone have any tips on what to do next time I go to one of these med student things so that I can develop a rapport, stand out/not be overshadowed by med students and get talking to her enough that I could get her number and more? Thanks for the help, I am a good looking guy who manages to be terrible with girls in the past, so I could really use a break and get a good looking girl for once. She would be perfect.

hey mate, I read your post earlier in the day. I wasn't going to answer it because I'm in Australia and am not up to speed on the in's and out's of college life...

the same thing happened to me some time ago, but the other way around...
i'm in med school, she's in law school.
so when they talk in law language, i was lost and felt the same way that you

what i did (and it worked) was to approach the girl like in a secret (kino escalation) and tell her "i don't understand, translate for me (neg - you order her in a cool way to explain to you). You can generate rapport with this and create a complicity if she is with your law mates, and what's most important, because she'll be "translating" to you, she'll not chat with the alpha med guys so it's easy to sarge her...
