(Note:Havent posted an intellectual, yet truthful post in a while. It'll be good for a change(Ask BlackBull anyone?)).
Most people dont have a clear vision of what pick up is supposed to be viewed as.
Some view it as the way to get women. Some view it as a tool to ascend in all aspects of life. Some think it's a crock of shit, and that if the person is nice, sends flowers, and kisses her feet, they will get the pussy(But we ALL know the answer to that one!).
Whatever the view, some have a problem adapting it to their own personality.
Not all of us agree on how we view the game. We all come from different backgrounds, and thus, have different worldviews and values.
YET ONE THING we all share in common...
...is the principles behind WAR.
Yes.War.
A definition:
War-(n)The art or science of warfare
Warfare can mean destroying the enemy. It can also mean the process behind Strategy.
We ALL have the essence of war and strategy in us. It is a human survival mechanisim made to help us not be taken over.
Doesn't matter if your a PUA,AFC,Rich,poor,very Sexual,Asexual.
War is in us all, even women.
It is what has driven countless nations and empires to compete against each other, all in the name of glory and dominance.
It is...the perfect model to base Pick up on.
Why do you think gurus such as David D,Style,Mystery,and the rest tell us to read "The Art Of War" and "48 laws of power".
Easy. War and pick up are not that different.
We technically wage "War" on the HBs we encounter, and in turn, she engages in war to see what you are made of.
Usually, it is HBs who win, as men do not follow a key rule of war (And one of Robert Greene's 48 laws: Crush your enemy totally).
When talking to a girl, ALWAYS finish, and do everything right down to the last step. Otherwise, failure occurs.
With the foundation layed, let us go into Mystery's M3 model, in the war mentality (Which EVERYONE here will understand).
(I will use King Leonidas and Xerxes' persian army as the model.GO SPARTAAAA!!!!)

A1-Open
========
The good ol approach phase. Leonidas declaring war against Persia.
Well, the first thing is, once you open, no turning back. You must use your repertoire of skills to subdue the enemy, and the enemy, in turn, must strike back as not to fall easily (More power to you if the enemy falls quickly,but this is rarely the case)
Use openers(First wave), qualification(Arrow volleys), negs(Reinforcements),
and get her interested (Get the enemy to take you seriously).

A2-Female-Male Interest

Xerxes trying to coax Leonidas into surrendering.
When you open correctly, you must demonstrate DHVs (Reasons why you are a fearsome general, without actually saying your a fearsome general).
Dont ask about her (Just like the enemy wont tell you their status, she wont tell you hers). Disinterest (Leave em hanging, so you may strike.
One of 48 laws: Be unpredictable).

A3-Male-Female Interest

Leonidas wanting to take his men to fight Xerxes.
This is where strategy comes in. You must lure the enemy base out (Get her interested in who you are). As she gets to know you, tease her a bit (Give her a taste of power, but not all of it). Show her a teaser of how mighty the 300 are, but dont show all the ferocity.
Now, the C section, starting the war

C1-Conversation

Sparta and Persia skirmishing.
Start an intriguing conversation (Strike,guard,and parry the offense).
Keep it going, until she goes from feeling comfortable to wanting to go further (Keep attacking until you arouse the fighting spirit of the enemy).
Law of Power:Stir up waters to catch fish

C2-Connection

In the heat of the battle. The Spartans and Persians are in battle mode, and now, one side must push for victory.
By now, she's primed to kiss (Persians want a victory, but will not strike until Sparta's motives are clear).
Work efficiently and intelligently until a kiss-close is available (Watch the battlefield and opponent. Find the weak spot, and finish the job).

C3-Intimacy

The battle is getting to it's climax. It's only a matter of time before the REAL battle begins.
From the kiss, use Push-pull, transition, and work to get her to bedroom. (You and the Persian are deadlocked. Ready yourself for the finishing blow).
The S phase.Time for the win!

S1-Foreplay
========
The Spartan soldier wears out the Persian before finishing him.
Heavy petting, LMR, and Freeze-outs. That is the game here (Keep switching blows until the path is clear)

Her final decision before showtime (Persian solider is defending, but the shield isn't holding. Only a matter of time until....)

The goal! HOT FUCKING! (Slash!HACK!Victory!).
See, you all understood.

Point of this, try viewing gaming with a war mentality. Be a strategist. Be a Robert Greene. Be a Zhuge Liang. Be a Eisenhower. Gengis Khan. Leonidas. Hideyoshi. El Che.
Do what they did in war, as a PUA.
Now go!

| yes, you are right, that was a LONG post, lol. but anyways that is definantly true, venusian arts as you know is a form of martial arts, and as you know in martial arts there are many differant tecniques. but they each lead to the same goal every step of the way, that's why if more people were having sex, there would be less war, because people don't take their battle skills to sex, it's the other way around... if there is no sex, they must kill. So P.U.A.'s are helping society, more sex, less war. everybody wins. |

Nice analogy Blackbull. I have begun reading Ralph D. Sawyers "The Essence of War" recently and it is fascinating to learn strategy and leadership from the classic Chinese Military minds like Sun-Tzu and Sun Pin.
Really liked the laws of power references as well, they fit in really nicely. Going into pick-up thinking about strategies is all well and good. Going in and being pragmatic is even better.
Overall, good post.

Right you are.
Every art interchanges similar basics and systems, even pick up fundamentals can be seen in other artforms.
The thing with war, is that, unlike other specific art forms like architecture, martial arts, or nuclear engineering, War is an art form that each and every human being has, no matter who you are.
Again, war is a natural survival mechanism within us. While most of us need to study Nuclear Engineering, or learn how to keep a house from collapsing, or beat your opponent mercilessly, WAR is embedded in us since birth. It is who we as humans are, competitiors.
My point here is to encourage the use of a war mentality with gaming, as to make things 100x easier for EVERYONE, since war applies to EVERYONE.
On a final note, do remember that war, in the end, is still war, and pick up will still be pick up. Going R.Lee Ermey on a HB10 isn't what I'm preaching here. Use the principles, not the full meaning. xD. |

| well, your post got me interested, and i started reading around on the net, and i just bought the 48 laws of power. and i must say, their very compatible. i wouldn't be surprised if many of the methods are directly derived from these laws.... |

I think when mystery calls it the vennusian arts he's refering to the division of life into two areas.
Survival And Replication
Martial arts (mars the god of war) is the survival part
Vennusian arts (Venus god of love etc) is the reproduction part.
Either way I think what blackbull has said was on everyones mind but he spells it out very well.  |
