confusion on an opening

ive been reading alot of the threads on opening, and i have a question..

ive been going to alot of clubs with my friends, and i see them opening to girls but the approach they're using goes against everything i've read here.

theyll go up to the girl and or a girl whos passing by and just compliment them by saying "you're a model, you're beautiful, etc.." they also compliment on something that they're wearing (which i know is fine) but their success rate is whatever, almost 50%.

so my question is this: is their approach functional? what do you guys suggest instead?

Their approach is too direct, so it isn't functional in PUA terms.
Basically, the girl hears that kind of bullshit all day long, and she isn't going to have sex with all the guys who are telling her shes beautiful.

There are two different choices for you to choose from:
1. Approach under the radar with, for example, an opinion opener.
2. Approach using a direct opener, for example, "Hi, are you as friendly as stunning?".

Both of them works.

People want something better than themselves. Make money with no work. PUAs can get chics hotter than they are. And women want it, too. Why would a woman want to have sex with a guy impressed by her beauty?

I love this line for hb9s and hb10s: "You know, I love that you're not rail thin like some of the other girls. It's good to have a little meat on your bones." They eat it up! I understand it on the surface level, but am wondering if there is a deeper meaning. Is it because they are convincing themselves that they're pulling one over on you by giving you their less valuable self in exchange for your more valuable self?

Yeah I dont agree with your friends openers, most hot girls go out with an ego and giving an overkill compliment like your a model will just pump that ego higher and reduce your chances its more like DLV. Girls like this are also used to these openers its why they are so hard to pickup without game in the first place. All you need to do is open with something orginal or something that makes her think thus making you someone who may have a bit of substance and definatly someone who stands out from the crowd. Fuck 50% success, you want 100% and can get it.

This is direct game... Basically it works if you approach a girl who feels inferior to you (you look better than her/have higher value/she has bad self confidence). This is not a very good strategy if you want to date girls that are hotter than you.
A female has to believe that she has selected you before you can start hitting on her.
Sometimes that happens but not very often and almost never with girls who are HB8+

Instead try to open with an opinion opener such as "who lies more?".
Do a false time constraint.
Ground your question with a story.
Neg.
Go into A2.

Nice clarity...i saw my friends try that out too and it worked less than 35% of the time and now I understand its not about it wokring 1/3 of the time but everytime

That approach just repeats what they've been hearing since they're 12 years old. They need to hear something that challenges them.

I have a buddy that women consider a damn good looking guy and when he goes out he gets drunk and hits on almost every chick. He probably has a 20% success rate and what ends up happening is he pulls 6's and 7's with an occasional 8. Which is fine for him, but I want to pull 8's and higher. I am still amazed that as drunk as he gets he is still able to pull tail.

one opener i heard ross and dd suggest is to say " hi i just had to come talk to you to find out what you were like other than what I already know." Is this good for starters or no? Me personally i feel more comfortable using opinion or situational openers, i dont have the balls to be direct unless im intoxicated, maybe.
