Hola PUA Bros in Crime,
My ultimate goal as an aspiring PUA is to be a master of cold approaches amongst strangers. To be able to go up to a girl I've never met in my life in a random place where there is no mutual connection, spit mad game, and make her my girl. Mystery was the best. It was either Thundercat or Juggler who admitted that cold approaches were very low yield. It's my goal and dream to be able to do that well.
I'm not there yet. Since I've joined the community, many parts of my game have gotten really strong and in certain settings (eg house parties, b-day parties, weddings, etc.,) I can crush any AFC... even ones that are better looking than me. But the cold approach is still really hard for me.
One survey question for all of you...
How many of you met the girl you're dating right now from a purely cold approach from let's say a mall or a club? I'm just curious.

I might not have my terminology down,
but I believe a cold approach is when you approach someone you've never met,
all on your own.
NOT getting introduced through friends, NOT in class, none of that...
just randomly, of your own will, with no middle man.
That's what I've always thought it was.

Hey M,
I'm a big pussy when it comes to cold approaches. I just can't bring myself to do it alone, even though I know it would improve my game immensely. I don't know what the deal is.
I can run game on waitresses, cashiers, and etc, but usually I'm out with friends and have no intention of closing. And just like you M, put me in a party, or meeting random chicks while wandering dorms (Similar to cold approach I guess), and just about any other larger social thing I have solid gold game.
It's just weird how I can switch my game on whenever I want at a party or whatever, but I can't bring myself to go talk to that HB9 sitting on a bench waiting for her next class.
In my opinion, cold approaches and day2's are the areas I need to really work on, but my game otherwise is right where I want it to be for the moment. Getting to the actual question(finally): I've actually never dated a girl who I've met in a cold approach. It's always been a co-worker, a girl I've met through someone else, or at a party.

| cold approaching is almost exclusively what i do. my social circle is big enough that i pretty much know all the girls in it, so one of my goals in becoming a PUA has been to meet new people, not ones in the circle already. so i sarge girls in lines at fast food places, the sidewalk, etc. i also don't have a wing where i'm living right now so i've been flying solo. i think the big thing with cold pickups is a lingering fear of rejection. when you sarge girls who you know you at least have something in common with, ie: being at the same party, having a mutual friend, you have that ready-made start of rapport with them. a cold pickup you have no idea, and neither do they. the bitch shields are stronger, the fear is stronger, therefore the chances of success are smaller. and i'll tell you, i crash and burn more often than not. but i keep getting better, and when it does come time to sarge a girl who is in my circle there is no fear whatsoever. i think it's like playing a video game on hard rather than on normal level. you die a whole lot more, but when you succeed you can be like, "shit yeah i beat that bastard on super impossible kill you in the face with a toilet seat and then poop on your face level!" you think you get an ego boost from getting girls you know now? think about it from when you get one you don't. but you kinda have to start at the begining all over again, get over the fear, crach and burn, but keep at it till you have it down. happy hunting. |
