In both scenarios when interacting with the group there was an outspoken Alpha F that was bitchy, bratty, and protective. In both scenarios instead of trying to move my target I gained acceptance from the group and started to neg the hell out of the Alpha F (not my target in either case). The effect was that it raised my value in the eyes of my target and I F-Closed on subsequent day 2s. One could not stop talking about how I "handled," the Alpha F on our date, she loved it and it became a frequent source of conversation.
Here is an example of a neg that I used.
Alpha F: (To her friend, my target): Do you remember "Home Alone 2?" You would totally be the crazy pigeon lady.
Phazzle: Hey do you remember that one movie? You know the one where that girl was acting like an insensitive brat?
(Laughs all around)
Anyone else a fan of this approach.
