For NLP I heard these materials are good, but I haven't checked them out (but I will check them out later):
* Bandler's books
* NLP - The new technology of achievement

For NLP in seduction purposes I checked out and recommend:
* Dave Riker's Speed Seduction Technical Manual (BEST MATERIAL!)
* Dave Riker's Speed Seduction Language and Conversation Course
* Ross Jeffries - Basic Home Study Course
* Ross Jeffries' free videos: http://www.speedseductionfree.com/ (Really good introduction or refresher. FREE!)
* IN10SE's materials
* Hypnotica's materials
* Rob J - Maximum Seduction
* Essential Skills - Anchoring Influence and other sneaky stuff

For those searching for free stuff, this guide is extremely good if you want to use NLP/SS pickup style:

Yes, I agree, 'Introducing NLP' is probably the first book you should read to become familiar with NLP. I am a certified NLP practitioner and it is the book my instructor recommended I read before my training. Reading NLP books and watching videos will get you started but if you want to really harness NLP skills you've got to be trained professionally.

Ask around to find some of the highly recommended trainers in your area and then have conversations with them to find the right one. If you live in Southern California, I highly recommend my trainer, John Santangelo. He trained with Richard Bandler and is is a protege of Chris Howard. You can find him at LANLP, tell him Oscar Gonzalez recommended you, he may cut you a deal and set up a payment plan with you.

"J.D Fuentes - Sexual Key" gets good reviews from NLP PUAS.

Just adding this one to the list.

I have the audio book called An Introduction to NLP - Joseph O'Conner and Ian McDermott and I find that to be a perfect start for anyone interested in NLP

"User Manual for the Brain" by L. Michael Hall and Bobby Bodenhammer is my favorite.

I also humbly recommend checking out ME, at the novexmentis website. ;)

Wouldn't "Frogs into Princes" by Richard Bandler and John Grinder be good to read for someone who wants to learn what NLP is? Especially since they the two psychologists who created NLP.

I would like to know the best training program to go through in order to learn NLP for pickup or in general. Books and tapes only go so far. I learn by doing and will pay to get certified or whatever it is.

But I would want it to be legitimate and hands-on.

I'm also skeptical of the science behind it, as some of its claims (mostly the learning style and eye movement stuff) has been shot down after empirical testing under proper scientific conditions. You have to admit it is marketed in the same way as other pseudosciences like EFT, etc.

I just bought "Introducing Neuro-Linguistic Programming" last night.
I read a little about NLP and it sort of intrigued me, so I thought I'd spend about $8-$10 to learn a bit more about it.

Thank you for this post.
