Since I've been guilty of not adhering to these myself on my first few sarges, I thought I'd get the ball rolling so we can get a list of rules to live by! These are mostly lifted from Irishs/TonyT's posts. Feel free to add to the list... 1) Point out IOIs - If you're not involved in a set of your own, then spend as much time as possible surveying your wing's surroundings and let your wing know - who is interested? are HBs showing IOIs? 2) He who opens, gets to close - If your wing has opened a set, do not get involved with the target. 3) Distract Obstacles - Keep an eye on the dynamics within the set, judge whether any members of the set are causing your wing problems and get involved to remove the obstacle so your wing can carry on. 4) Give your wing advice - before, during and after sets - Don't be afraid to give direct advice during your wing's routines. It can be easier for a wing watching to be able to see what can be improved, than for the PUA actually doing the routine. Give advice straight away rather than after the set has come to an end if possible. 5) Raise your wings status - Introduce your wing to everyone, raise his profile in the groups you're involved in. |
