| Post subject: | Name Forgetting |
Hello, i realise that if a girl forgets your name it means she didn't take care to remember it therefore you obviously weren't doing very well the last time you spoke to her. But say if they do forget, whether it be your fault in not being interesting and attractive or they're just drunk, what is the best way to respond to someone who does? I made this mistake at a party last time, by foolishly sounding disappointed. What is the best way to react, to "punish" them? Thanks. |

Then call them out on it. Say "Hey, girl, that is so inconsiderate, because I even remember your name, [NAME]!" Then smile and wink. You want to show you're not actually upset, just joking around. Then just introduce yourself again, like it's no big deal. If you want, you can add in something like "No problem, I do that all he time, too. I know too many people and I'm awful with names. For some reason, yours just stuck." DHV. |

Ok, I get you... nice idea, although wouldn't it be easy to come across as if you are disappointed even with saying that? I mean just saying that it's inconsiderate sounds like you care that they've forgotton. "I know too many people" is a good one, i'll use that in future but saying "i'm awful with names" surely isn't good because firstly, it is them who should be apologising and also it's an unnecessary justification, right? Also saying "yours just stuck"... isn't that making you sound clingy by showing too much respect to them? Thanks. |

Are you disappointed? It depends on the situation, but I don't usually get disappointed by a girl not remembering my name. And I have an easy name to remember. If you are disappointed, then it will be harder to make it seem like it doesn't matter. But there are so many girls out there, you can't possibly remember them all, right? Either way, you can make it seem like you aren't disappointed by blowing that first statement way out of proportion. "I CAN'T believe you DON'T REMEMBER my NAME. After ALL THOSE GOOD TIMES we had. I just don't know what I'm going to do with my life." And have an overly pained expression on your face that is comical in nature. Shows you don't really care and how silly it would be to care, which reinforces your second DHV statement. Saying that her name stuck isn't clingy, it just demonstrates interest-in most situations. I'm assuming this is a girl you met at a bar or party or something pretty recently, and the whole set of occurrences in within a week. Otherwise, you're right. If it's been more than that, not only does it sound clingy, but it could be that it IS clingy (If that makes sense). |
