So last night I was getting along great with these two girls, both HB8's. I was also with a group of male friends for the night and it was of of my bro's birthdays. Anyway, we head out to the smoking area and I see these two girls sitting on their own. "perfect" I think. I open well and start a couple of routines and some fluff (the best friends test worked perfectly). Then suddenly outta nowhere one of the guys from our group who I didn't really know comes out and sits down with me and the girls (my other mate's were staying outta the way a bit) and says straight out to my target of the two "wow you're really hot" then looked at me and said "don't you agree". Okay he's clearly making an unnecessary attempt to wing-man me, I answer "yeah she's okay I guess". He looks confused as shit and says we'd make a good couple and tries to move her from her side of the table we're at to my side. She's stood there looking at him like he's some kind of idiot and she drags her mate with her to that dreaded bathroom. How the hell do I deal with a situation where a friend is genuinely trying to help me out, but ruining everything at the same time? I mean obviously we talked about it after and he agreed never to do that again, but how should I deal with it mid-routine? |

That's not the worst thing. Trying to do a high five or saying "Man, you will score" are really really really the lamest things. Just accept it, you can't eradicate ignorance. |

The same thing happened to me: I was with a group of 7 men in a pub sitting at a table. At the next table there were 8 girls sitting. NO ONE from the group opened a set, except me! So i was gaming this girl, and things were looking very well. Suddenly a mate joins the conversation and was hitting on here. I thought "WTF! I opened her, so this is my game! Besides, there are 6 other girls sitting there"! Then another mate of my joined the conversation too....it became messy, because suddenly the girl is talking to three guys at the same time! I found it stupid of these guys. What were they thinking? |

It seems to me, in most cases of seen this (and yeah i've had the high five SPAM) is that a lot of guys are scared to open sets themselves but the second anyone else does it they see that person as "safe". However only that one girl and everybody is like "omg that really hot girl is talking to our friend" and they all kinda gather round. Some guys start talking as well, which throws me off or they stand around and kinda just stare which is weird for us talking while they all watch. I once even tried bouncing around a club and 2 of my friends followed... Next time I'm going to try and actively involve my target's group with my own group the same way that I would ask to be introduced to her friends. Then try to isolate the target from the group, that way my own group will be occupied with the new people. |
