Indeed. Only I've found that with my personality if I smirk then that just makes people feel that I think I'm better than them because that's the most common reason people tend to smirk these days it seems. Truly if you are amused by this comment I think that smirk can be a smile and accomplish much better results due to a lack of any sting and instead having them feel like you think that is ridiculous because you're just being playful and have no ill intent in any of your actions...but that's just me cause I'm a good guy type not a bad boy type.
