| Post subject: | text message conversation example |
[mods: feel free to move this if this isn't the correct section for this thread] So I see lots of people here with questions about their text message game. They post their conversations and, without fail, my advice to them is always the same: be more fun and playful. Well, it's easy to say that, but what exactly does that mean and how does one do it? That part is a lot harder to answer, of course. Occasionally myself or another poster will give a line that we would have used, but that's not exactly a permanent fix. And while having awesome lines to use is great, if you're not congruent with it then it's probably not going to help you long term. DISCLOSURE #1: While I'm nowhere near being an MPUA or anything, I do feel like my text message game is very solid right now. And judging from the questions that I constantly see posted here, a lot of you could use an example to help guide you a little bit. I'm not coming here with a holier-than-thou attitude or trying to be some kinda pickup guru or anything. I'm definitely not that guy, but I think my example could help so I feel it warrants posting. DISCLOSURE #2: A lot of the posters on this forum refuse to use text messaging to enhance their game. They constantly say things like "I don't have time to text" or "I only use texting to set up plans and that's it". IMO, both of these views are EXTREMELY shortsighted. Girls are constantly on their phones. They love having guys who are funny and interesting text them. It really is a great and efficient way to build attraction and comfort WHEN DONE CORRECTLY. Obviously, if it's Saturday night at 9pm and you're busy bombing her with text message after text message, well that's lame. But that's not what I'm talking about here. Do it at your own pace during down time and it'll work wonders for you. I guarantee it. So without further ado, here is the opening conversation I had with a girl that I am dating. I've been using "skittles or m&ms" to open girls for like 2 years now with great success. (If there's interest, I would consider doing a writeup and analysis on that opener.) I met this girl on an online dating site and we exchanged a couple of emails before I got her number and told her I would text her the next day... me: I'm luring girls over to my house with candy. do you prefer skittles or m&m's? her: you going to leave a trail of them hansel and grettle style? And I think you'd have better luck with the m&ms me: m&ms huh? so u dont wanna taste the rainbow? her: but m&ms melt in your mouth not in your hands me: lol true...and to answer your question i was just gonna sit here with them in my white van outside this schoolyard her: have you also decided to grow a beard and wear nothing but a trenchcoat? me: eh im not really growing a beard, i'm just too lazy to shave her: and i'm hoping this is [my name] or i'm having a suggestive text chat with a random stranger. i try not to make a habit of that anymore. me: [my name] who? i just found your number in a burger king bathroom stall and started texting her: well i guess old habits die hard. I should have stopped working those street corners long ago me: nah it's cool. i like a girl whos experienced her: well, the streets of [crappy part of town] have taught me well me: lol nice. cant imagine u made a lot of money there but at least the clientele is pretty classy :P her: i've been told the really good money is down by the crack house on [street] but havent worked my way up there yet. gotta pay my dues first ya know? me: whoa whoa whoa. my girls work that corner. stay outta my territory! her: wow a pedo and a pimp? classy combo there stud me: what can i say? im the total package so that's the 1st half of our conversation. note that the conversation really wasn't all that hilarious and i didnt really even use any cocky/funny stuff. i just tried to vibe with her and have a playful conversation and not be boring or traditional at all. her line about working the corners seems very bizarre to me. its random and doesnt really fit with the conversation. if anyone has any idea why she said that, please let me know lol. i tried to just go with it. normally, pedophile jokes and pimping/whoring discussions aren't ideal 1st conversation topics. i just went with it. she told me later on that she loves how we have amazing conversation. the 2nd half of our conversation was slightly more "real" with us mixing in some discussion about our careers and future goals and stuff. the main thing to note here is that she would much rather be talking to me than other guys who just text her boring shit like "what ya up to?" anyway, i'd like to hear your thoughts and comments. |

While still pretty new to this myself, I really don't see any flaws with your text game. "specifically that message" I really like your opener, as it builds a solid foundation to the conversation and she never flakes. |

most likely she said working the street corners cause the burger king bathroom stall line, made her associate her number with a cheap whore, also highball, no such thing as ''NEVER FLAKES'' |
