Wake up Pick-up is no hard science. There are no specific, detailed runs and plays that turn you into a player. I think the majority of people on this form are simply OVER-analysing this entire concept. "what do I say now?" "What do I say when she says ...?" "What's the best neg?" "How do I open this set?" This is the problem of pick-up as it is being propagated on these forums. People are digging too deep into this, it's a waste of your brain and your time. They're asking for a complete set of rules, of methods, but there are none and consequently, if they don't see this, they will get trapped in theory. Theory is only theory. The best you have are guidelines, principles, core values. How Pick-up should be used: To become a 'PUA', I don't like the word, so let's say a charismatic person, all you need is a firm set of principles on which you can build. These principles are very obvious but at the same time hard to consequently live by. 1. Confidence 2. Bodylanguage 3. Stability 4. Optimism 5. Courage 6. Self-development 7. Curiosity You can name a few more, but I think these are the most essential. Now from here on, you can apply these principles with people, with women, and I guarantee you if you follow these, you will have succes, in everything. 'MPUA' Approach I believe that all the questions about openers, escalating, negging and other technicalities are irrelevant. You do not need them. It only overcomplicates things. It's for the same reasons that I don't really credit 'MPUA's like Gambler, Mystery, David D and all those other 'masters'. First of all I would like to see some serious proof that their technical, detailed approach gives them more succes than womanizer-naturals. Heck, I'd like some proof of them sleeping with HB 8-10s, because I have never even seen them do that, let alone see them on photo's with them. Only if that proof is given, I will change my mind. And even if that was the case, Gambler and co. would have to do substantially better than those naturals to make-up for the effort in studying all that theory and thinking up those technicalities. Conclusion I don't have a name for my approach of pick-up. I suppose you could call it the Basis-theory or Core Value-theory. But the idea is simple. Keep it simple. Follow a set of principles and get out there. Improvise. In Dutch we have a saying: "Practice makes art". It works for me and it will work for you. |

Sounds right to me. I've never really "learned the game", though I do use some of the principles. It just comes naturally. I've had (potential?) opportunities that I didn't recognize with some serious SHB's, and the biggest key (for me, anyway) is to remember that no one is out of your league. Everyone is human, has human needs and desires, and human faults. |

the biggest insights i've gained from this forum are not routines and such, they are instead some of the brilliant insights into female behavior that posters here have contributed. |

lol just for shits and giggles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NJBREvb ... r_embedded the point is to just believe in yourself, and actually make an effort to try and improve every fascit of your life possible, no method is a magic pill, no routine can pull every single girl, most coaches just try to give guys some fake confidence until they have real confidence, if you go from thinking you have no chance and have no belief inyour self, to thinking, i can get any girl i want i just need to practise, your confidence has been changed, as a result every thing you convey when approaching will more likely be changed, things such as MM, DYD, and all of Gambler's stuff, are just ideas passed on, not magic pills, MM just trys to teach you how to play the cool guy, the social leader, but often people don't get the DHV part and over neg, and think because a girl looks up to you socially, all of a sudden, means that if your morbidly obese with a acne scarred face you will be pulling 10s, when in fact they end up with a shit ton of LJBF's running around in circles and could have wasted less time by just going direct, or useing 60s method, but still more or less breaks down how to be cool, as long as you DHV by telling storys not just randomly blurting out ''OH THIS GIRL LIKES ME'' ''OH THAT GIRL LIKES ME, I PULL SO MANY GIRLS, I TOLD THIS GUY TO DO THIS'' ''I SAVED THAT GUYS LIFE'' etc etc.. subtle dhv's in storys, or actually DEMONSTRATE and PROOF IT, next negs are over used, and guys end up insulting girls cause they don't understand the concept, anything to break report is just as good as a neg, DYD is just a whole lot of common sense, be funny, be social, ask girls on dates, don't make your self look bad, and Gambler more or less seems to hash out a whole lot of material and merge it into his own mashup style game, i think 60YOC is really legit, probably one of my fav ''GURU'' methods, even though having fun and just winging it with a structure is probably the best way (ie just keep in mind escalate and close), in the end it all comes down to just trying to do something instead of nothing and actually talking to girls instead of sitting up agaisnt a wall holding a drink up to your chest, |

It's a business. Theories, routines, stories, and everything else is just a means of making money. Every time one of those guys writes another book, makes a DVD, or holds a bootcamp, it is because they expect it to be profitable. There's nothing wrong with that, because it does help some people. The thing is, that canned material is usually a good first step. If a guy needs an opener to have some confidence in approaching a woman, there's nothing wrong with that. it only becomes a problem when a guy is unwilling to wean himself away from the routines. |

Yeah, I definitely agree with this. But especially about it helping some people. I think all of us learns a different way. MM is great if you're an engineer type who likes to work on things piecemeal and break it all down to a science. Gunwitch is good for people who just want to smash through a girl's defenses and are tired of waiting around. Deangelo helps people who may not be as comfortable in their own skin as others. Etc.I think it really just depends on the person which methods speak to them the best. And I definitely agree with Mack. Understanding female motivations and behaviors is such an integral part to PU, that any information on this is much more important than just what to do; it's about knowing WHY you're doing what you're doing. And that is what will be integrated into your knowledge on women, not just routines and such... |
