| Post subject: | First time sarging with a wing |
A good friend of mine and me are going out this weekend to try out some serious sarging together. We have studied a lot of therory and we now want to move on to the field for some practical application. We have been out in the field just for fun before, trying out some openers and practising negs and so on, not very seriously and never together as wings. So this is a very exciting and new kind of expreience for us both. We learned this thing in The Pickup Artist S02E06 and will try it out: Let's say your friend is in a 2-set of girls and you want to know if its time for you to join in. You'll then approach your buddy and ask: "Hey man, have you seen Melissa?" Since none of us know any girl named Melissa this is a code language for "Is it time for me to join in?" There are two answers: 1. "Yes, she is over there!" means "No, it's not time yet, I haven't dropped any DHV to your advantage, come back soon!" 2. "No, not in a while!" means "Yes, I'll introduce you right away!" This is the agenda for the weekend: Thursday - Planning day - Watch The Pickup Artist S02E06 about winging - Shopping some clothes and accessories for peacocking - Planning where to go, how to cooperate, what to aim for and share experience and tips - Practise openers, negs, DHV, kino and cooperation Friday - first night out - Get everything in order and practise the last things - Go out together, split up and then join each other - Get at least one kiss and number close each Saturday - second night out - Practise things that didn't go as planned - Look into more things we need to add - Go out and improve the results of yesterday What I now ask you guys for are: * Please share your experience in sarging with a wing (I've read some posts) * Other stuff we should practise * Particular tips and useful stuff that you can use with a wing * Should we aim for 2-sets of girls or is it better to go with any 2+ set? * Is it better to split up or go into sets togehter? * Is there any good texts or videos about this that you think we really should read or watch? I will post a topic in the "Field Reports"-thread when it's time and keep you updated with our progress! |

I am pretty new to this so you will have to take my feedback with a grain of salt, but I will at least tell you what I have expereinced so far with my wing. What I now ask you guys for are: * Please share your experience in sarging with a wing (I've read some posts) I am lucky enough to have a wing (we wing each other really) who has solid charisma and hooks an open at least 50% of the time and I am in the same boat. I used to solo with pivots a lot and having lovely ladies around me at all times was a great way to drop shields, plus they would eagerly pull women to me as well. I've cut that out a lot though and pretty much wing with my trusty evil sidekick "swift" and we go out 3-4 nights per week and have a pre-game plan and post-game debrief and try to learn as much as possible from the experience. In my opinion, having a good wing is a big time boost. * Other stuff we should practise My wing and I are pretty much reading every bit of literature we can get our hands on and trying the canned stuff while devising our own. Overall the success has been good, biut we know that we have a huge amount of room to grow. I would practice on social proofing as much as you can in clubs and bars. Whether you know the people you are interacting with or not, it still displays to everyone that you and your guy are fun to be around. We notice a lot of proximity when we are working the venue. * Particular tips and useful stuff that you can use with a wing We always make sure we are congruent and in agreement with each other. It makes the both of you look stronger to the people you are interacting with and helps establish DHV. * Should we aim for 2-sets of girls or is it better to go with any 2+ set? We aim for anything 2+, many include guys and we open the guys first. This was hard for me to conceptualize at first, but disarming the guys seems to really help bring you in to the set. This has been said before, but I always use the "So, how do you know each other" question. It easily defines what you are up against and is a great guide for helping you determine where/who to start with. I am constantly amazed at the amount of mixed sets are simply just friends and making a connection with "thier" girls helps fuel the fire for me and my wing. * Is it better to split up or go into sets togehter? This is an interesting one, I sometimes feel that if you and your wing randomly pop-in out of no where, the set knows immediately whats going on. We do approach together, but more often, we tag into a nearby set as an individual, then pull the other in to the conversation, with "hey, this is my friend so-and-so, he etc, etc, etc..." This seems to most less like an attack andmy experience shows tells me that its easier to break in this way. I would love to know some other methods as well... * Is there any good texts or videos about this that you think we really should read or watch? I've read the Mystery Method, and am reading "The Game" and the "Style Life Challenge" now and plan to read the 60yearchallenge as well. There is a lot of information out there and I too am tapping into it. I say read and practice as often as you can. We typically night game since Austin is so damn good for it, but any time I am out and have the opportunity I bring it. Good luck! |

Thank you very much Keno512 for your response! I will definitely keep that "So, how do you know each other" question in mind when going into sets with guys in. I always thought that question as small talk, but now I see the whole idea with it  Is there any good material out there for winging that you'd recommend? |

I use that question with pretty much every set. It usually reveals something about the people and gives you something else to go off of. As for winging-specific material, I have not seen anything. However, Mystery's book has a listing of wingman rules. I'm sure its posted out there somewhere. |
