Post subject:  First message on facebook when we have a mutual friend

So, I've been reading a lot on online game, especially facebook game but most of what I read is for when you are gaming random hot girls you don't know, just like a regular opener on a bar or club.

What if you have a (girl) friend in common with the girl you are trying to game? Should you use this connection on the first message? (Something like "hey! Abbie was just showing me your profile...)
Or should you just use regular openers and ignore the fact that we both are friends with the same person?

And one more question about facebook gaming, should I use the information available on her profile to develop the conversation? (something like: "I see you are into photography...)

thanks guys!

Maybe because perhaps sarging on social networks like FB is just not a good idea at all and does not work? Gives you a clue now?

Facebook is good for keeping connections, not making them

Man I know a guy that's picked up heaps of chicks off Facebook, he just adds mutual friends and starts chatting, actually now that I think about it I know a couple of guys that do pretty well off it.

Yea no intelligent replies? I thought this would be an easy one!

Hey mate nice to see a fellow Perthian on here, anyway I would have to agree with you, yes you can pick up on Facebook, that's where I met my last two gfs... BEFORE I was aware of PU. While you can pick up online you should leave it as a means of connection only after pick up. With all the tools at your disposal here, why waste time picking up online?

Definitely with vicparkguy83 on this one.

Should you rely on facebook as a way of meeting girls? - No.
Can you pick-up girls on facebook? - Yes.

My first ever proper LTR was a girl who added me on facebook, and my last f-buddy was from POF, so it shows that online dating does/can work.. cause lets face is, facebook is a semi-dating site if you use it in a certain way.

I'm not a massive fan of adding random girls and trying to chat them up, but it works for a lot of people.

Regarding the original questions, I think having mutual friends definitely gives you a better chance. The girl will be less inclined to think you're just some random sleasy guy who goes around adding loads of 'hot' girls trying to pull. I usually give it the cheeky "you popped up on 'people you might know', and I thought you looked like a nice girl so gave you the pleasure of being my friend!"

It's personal preference of course, as always! :D

Yep, I'm stealing that line it's gold!

I never really tried to pick up off Facebook but I've been using Oasisactive for about a year and F-closed about 10 chicks off it, some of them pretty hot too. I really wanna get into Facebook pick-up now because the guys I know that use it all say it's works better than dating sites.

I know internet dating is a flawed method of pick-up but it's not bad to have at your disposal when ya sitting at home all bored.

Don't hate on FB gaming. Sure, going out in real life is gonna serve you much more experience in the long-run, but online gaming can work as well.

I personally hate gaming online. I get bored. But when I get the chance, I do it. Last night I was gaming a girl that accidentally added me as a friend on FB, even though we don't know each other.

She lives on the other side of the world.

30 minutes later, she suggests I get my ass over to her country so we can ride coast to coast with her car and have multiple dates on the way.

Just saying, do it when appropriate. But I think it's a little farfetched hunting for girls on facebook specifically to try picking them up. I don't know, seems kinda lame. Plus they can easily shut you out and start ignoring you. I know a lot of guys that have gotten their reputation completely fucked up because of stupid shit they tried with girls on Facebook. Friends and mutual friends find this shit out and sometimes purposely call you out on it. You become the laughing stock of Facebook.

Just saying . . .
