| Post subject: | Should you ever care about what other people think? |
For example, I really like to wear this red bandana thingy around my neck. It looks unique, and I feel like it adds to my charisma as I feel cool wearing it and know it stands out. A couple people have told me it looks gay lol (Like my dad. I know right? Thanks for the support, pops) I havent worn it since. Sob. This has happened a few times because I like to wear things that stand out, like these boxing boots I have which have a metallic "dried petrol on concrete" rainbowish color. http://www.groovygreen.com/groove/wp-co ... w-wiki.jpg ANYWAY, question is - I like to wear these things, but other people comment on how it looks too outrageous/my dad called the bandana gay....(wont forget that) Should I be caring or go with what I think I should wear? |

In my opinion, you shouldn't care about what other people think. You could wear a fucken clown suit and pick up if you had the confidence and body language to go with it. The bandana sounds like a good accessory to wear; however the link you gave about the boots... I'm not too sure. But if YOU like them, then by all means wear them proudly and don't give a shit about what anyone else thinks. Bloodninja. |

Never care what other people think when it's an arbitrary non-issue like a personal choice like fashion or hair or whatever - listen to their OPINION, but make your own choice based on what YOU think suits YOU. |

Rainbow shoes ay? Lemme tell you a little story. This kid in my gym class last year wore rainbow shoes. We used to give him shit for it everyday. But you know what? We were just being haters. This kid gets MAD pussy all day and hes a total natural with girls. He pulled it off and it was a great peacocking tool. People will always find shit to make fun of you for. Wear that shit with pride. A girls not gonna not get with you over a bandana or some fucking shoes lol. Unless you dress like a complete retard, youre good to go man. Who cares what your pop thinks? He grew up in a different time. And I doubt he was a PUA. My parents think its gay that I have my ears pierced. Bitches love it. |

perhaps i should clarify a bit... life is about politics... personal politics, professional politics, relationship politics, etc... life is basically a big jumble of people all around us "all up in our business" do i MODULATE my behavior based on other people's perceptions of me? what they might think? how they might perceive me? how they might relate to me? yes, i do. do i CARE what they think about me? um, fuck no. so, there is a difference between "not caring" what other people think... and modulating behavior to societal norms or the "norms" of a particular setting... it's all about logic. logically speaking, i will modulate my behavior and appearance as a form of social lubrication emotionally speaking (deep inside), i could give a fuck less what other people think of me. even my mom, god bless her heart! |

It's swings and roundabouts, it's like I have long-ish hair compared to my mates.. a lot of girls will see this is a turn-off, but the same amount will prefer guys with long hair. Regardless, it's really irrelvant. Never, ever, change the way you are to try and please someone else. It's false, and more importantly it's wrong. I've always thought that people who frown upon what you wear, or what you do and how you do it are the ones with the problem. They're insecure, and they're too narrow-minded to know that looking and acting like a clone of everyone else is bloody boring! |
