Ok

I'm not sure the best way to explain this but...

Some guy down my gym has the ability to hold the floor in every conversation, hes brigth, bubbly, lively, he gets peoples attentions, people are interested, and he does little friendly digs at everyone, but what ever I do i can never counter his digs, say anything, do anything, and you cant even take the piss out of him because he can just make something bad turn something good.

Anyone know any good books/videos/resources on how to get this state in general day life. I find with him that... he's a cheeky cunt. But does it right.

People find when i tell stories they are boring, i stutter a bit, people lack interest, and im easy to take the piss out of.

I really need to improve this... anyone got any ideas?

that sort of charisma takes time and practice, my friend.

and from a wide variety of disciplines.

such as: pua, sales, meditation, body language, etc.

start picking up books on self-improvement, paying special attention to body language, voice tonality, positive thinking, sales tactics, etc.

what you are describing is "a people person"

some are that naturally

others take a lot of time and training to get there

i work in sales. i am a natural introvert. it took me years of hardcore sales training to put forth a false confidence that eventually turned into a real confidence (through competence). now i can stand in front of a difficult client and counter every objection he or she poses, and effectively end up selling ice to eskimos.

but it took time. and very specific training/practice.

dude ... you don't learn how to walk if you don't try to walk ... just pickup material and set up some goals , like mack said.

there is enough material available ... You have david deangelo , RSD ( real social dynamics ) , Mystery , Gunwitch etc.....

work on your body language , work on your voice tonality and leanr some canned material ( opening lines etc)

just don't set ridicilious goals , emerge in alot of material but take action in steps.

one goal you have to adopt right here right now is to '' make things more fun ''. when go out or going to talk with people think : ''im going to have fun ''. Adopt a mindset before creating new behaviours.

I would actually say i am a very confident person and can do it all. However it seems as thought his destroys me.

Back to voice tone though, i always find people get bored of my stories etc.. any good material on voice tone?

voice tone should be low and confident - while the volume is loud.

bored of your stories ... it has to do with what and how you tell, just be funny and cocky. Bust peoples balls a bit , people are bored with everydays conversations so don't engage in normal conversations about school and that stuff...

you should talk like there is no logic ... logic kills emotions - if you talk to woman there shouldn't be a logical conversation at all. You can talk about logical things when you divorce. Emotions make fun conversations....

if you want some examples for voice tonality and pitch , just look for for some good journalists and interviewers. also look for movie starts like tom cruise and brad pitt....

if you want some material and theory.. david deangelo has some stuff about voice tonality and so does Tim from Real social dynamics in flawless natural. There are many coaches on youtube as well who have some good intel.

Do you have the links for any parts in particular? I have searched and cannot find anything worth looking at, i have found some people who are old woman or men, and they bore the shite out of me, and i feel like... if they bore me straight away, then they cannot help for what i want.

you should pickup some books or ''PUA'''material, some are downloadable some can only be bought. Naturally i've already a heavy voice - born with it- , i don't need really emerged in voice tonality studies because i already got that part handled before i went into game.

remember it's not only tonality ... that's just a part to get or hold more attention. storytelling is also important....

i think you need cocky comedy by david deangelo, that would be good material for you.

I actually have the same problem. I can banter, tease, flirt all high energy and people are having tremendous fun around me. But the moment I go to tell a story, they interest goes instantly down.

I realized (and am still working on this), the problem is that when I banter/flirt I feel confident that what I say will be funny (even if it often isn't ), so my enthusiasm is obvious to others and it keeps their attention, even if I blow the joke.

The same goes for stories. I started to implement the "enthusiasm" element into my stories as well. I start like "Hey this aaaawesome thing happened to me!!!" This immediately grabs their attention. But I have to "oversell it" quite a bit, which puts so much more pressure on me, to make the story "good" and I often blow it..

I have a couple of stories that I practiced hundreds of times in front of a mirror or vidocamera, to see what am I doing wrong. I can now tell this stories with lot of confidence and they are almost guaranteed to be funny and get awesome reactions.

When I started using videocam I realised how boring I was when telling stories. So I went over and over and over. At the beginig I was literally falling asleep when watching myself, but as I got better, I could feel that the "storyteller" has drawn me into the story! (And I heard and told the story like 100 times!)

But stories I didn't practice enough times, are still not nearly as funny and I often lose the attention..

fortunately, there is no need to tell interesting stories with girls.

they don't give a fuck.

lol.

they want to talk about themselves, not you.

all you have to do (because of their inherent ADHD) is agree, nod, and crack quick one-liners.

they like us best "seen and not heard"

same goes for emotions from what i can tell.

i don't think i've ever once had a single female in my life respond well to me discussing or displaying my TRUE emotions.
