Post subject:  How to Develop a Routine Stack that Works?

I've been in the community off and on for about 3.5 years. I've gone from incompetently running Mystery Method to a more natural style of game and I've seen my results improve dramatically.

However, I'm still not getting the results I want (most of my lays are single moms, cougars, or lone wolves with issues--all from online or night game) and it's all inconsistent. These are girls who take little or no game to lay, just a set of balls. I feel like I could benefit from a routine stack based on my own experiences. I just don't know where to start, though.

Back when I was trying to use Mystery Method, the routines and when/where to use each one was what tripped me up the most. I'd go up to a girl, open, and then try to tell some DHV story or neg her to "build attraction." She'd either lose interest in the story or just plain blow me out, and I had a lot of girls get pissed and call me douchebag. I'd like to avoid that.

I feel like I have decent inner game, do a good job with nonverbals, with picking up on when a woman's interested, and on closing when I can see she's ready to go. My big weakness is on having interesting things to say to start or keep a conversation going and then my text/phone game is weak. That's where I'm hoping some good routines could come in.

So... what advice do you guys have as I try to put this together? I'm viewing the routines as more of a way to have interesting, field tested things to say and help get a girl hooked off a cold approach, rather than some magic bullets that'll instantly get any woman I want. So what do I need and what should I keep in mind as I put this together?

I honestly don't think there is anyone on here that can tell you an exact routine that will work for you. Every experience and situation is different. You have to build a routine based off of what is happened at that exact moment. The only thing that you can say for sure will be definite every single time is your opener. You could use the same opener on ever single girl in the club and come out with an entire different conversation with each of them.

I use to start out with opinion openers all the time. Every single time I opened a girl it was with an opinion opener. I still use them from time to time, but now my opener maybe a story. I just jump straight into it. Could be something true, could be something I make up on the spot. Regardless of how I open I build off the situation.

My opener is either a story or leads to a story. Based off how she responds, I'll ask an open ended question. Open ended for me basically means that she can't just answer yes/no. She has to elaborate on the question. I pay attention to her answer and pick bits and pieces from it that has related to me someway and make a story out of it. Even if it doesn't relate to me, I'll make up a story. I'll then end the story with another open ended question, run another routine, isolate, or walk away. With game, the ball is always in my hand. I have the power even though I approached her. It's up to me to decide what I want to do at any given moment. What I decide is always based off the situation and how I feel at the moment.

You sound just like me about a year ago!

I know how it feels - you have all this material, know all these techniques, and yet you do about as well as any random, average guy - how frustrating!

You know what the big secret is?

The routines don't actually get you laid!

The reason it's hit and miss, is because

(i) If she wasn't attracted to you to begin with, no routine will suddenly make her attracted

(ii) If she already is attracted, then spending hours "building attraction" and "building comfort" is POINTLESS and waste of time, so she'll get BORED and fuck off!

=> Forget about routines. You're already good enough to hold a conversation and get to know a girl, display some interesting qualities, be funny, and generally have fun.

To stop wasting your time and getting right down to it with girls who ARE interested in you, simply OPEN by stating your intent from the beginning. Tell her you find her sexy, or gorgeous, or cute, or whatever you're comfortable with, get her name, and then go from there ASSSUMING that if she stays long, she IS attracted (this is a green light to also quickly physically escalate if in a bar/club setting).

There's not point worrying about if girls think you're a dick, or aren't attracted to you. Not all of them will like you, no matter how good your game is, sorry! Instead focus on going out and genuinely and authentically displaying your personality. If a girl likes it, great, keep going, if not, you've wasted 1 minute and can move on. Simple!

Thanks for the responses guys!

Ryan, I get what you're saying, and that's the approach I've been taking. As I said earlier, I'm not expecting some magic bullet that'll magically attract a girl or build comfort or any of the contrived mystery method terminology. All I'm really looking for is to work out a few pre-planned things that'll be funny and help keep things interesting. I know there are girls who are attracted, but I'm making it hard on them to engage me in a conversation.

I've noticed that it's not so much the initial attraction that's giving me problems, as it is that awkward "ok, she's attracted but we don't know each other yet" phase that comes after a couple of minutes from the opener. That's where I was hoping the routines would help, just so I don't come across as a bore. I'm afraid that's happening to me quite a bit. Girls open and show interest for a few minutes, then I lose them when I can't hold up my end of the conversation.

Relying on observational/situational openers has also been a bit weak for me. When they work, everything's great and smooth, but that's only about 1/5 of the time. I really hate the cheesy opinion openers out there, and for some reason direct openers don't get me far. I need some things that'll break the ice a little better and get a conversation started.

Thanks for the replies, guys! This is helping me to pinpoint exactly what I want to work on.
