Ok it's all about body language... whenever you talk to them make eye contact but make sure you project happiness, do not cross your arms...open your palms towards them and have your legs forming a triangle (if you are sitting point each knee at one of them) and when you listen make eye contact...it shows you are listening to what that person is saying...try not to look down. Watch your girlfriend's body language too...she might be insecure because her mother is there...I see this a lot when daughters/sons are out with their parents. If that happens it may be because she is worried about what her mother thinks about you...or what you think about her cause her mother is there... at this point I would crack a few jokes... or my favorite is voice impersonations...get her mother to laugh her a$$ off... that should help.... P.S. always smile! |

Be an AFC hahaha! A mother always wants their daughter to be with a nice boy who would do anything for her. Play the nice guy act, I wouldn't try to be cocky and funny as you come across as a prick. Funny is good, cocky isn't. In other words, you don't need no lines or anything, in this situation, really BE YOURSELF AND JUST YOURSELF. |

Show yourself to be very dependable and funny enough. Being dependable is really important so she will know that her daughter is in good hands. Show your ambitions, what are you doing now, what will you do later, show her mom that you are a man with a career. Be just funny enough to show that you are fun, but don't try too hard, don't steer her conversation to make a joke, but make good jokes when they pop up. Funny stories also help. All in all, you gotta DHV her mom, just a bit differently. I could give more advice if I knew your age/her age, the type of mom. (I guess you girl told you about her) Wikihow has nice articles on the topic. (Meeting parents, dining with parents, impressing parents, etc. Wikihow is a good site.) |

we are both 20 and at law school together in england. Her mum is coming up north to pick her up and asked if she could see me blah. From what i gather her mum is in her 50's and doesnt work. Stay at home mum who is into her golf. I get the impression her and her mum have a good relationship as they always talk on the phone etc |
