You've probably all heared of 'state'. RSD talks a lot about it.

I don't know what acually happened, but if you read the last entery of this (or at least the part between the videos ;)) next-vt85320.html?postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 you'll understand what am I asking.

So my question is from that night on I was 'in state' for like 4 or 5 days, I mean, I was so confident, happy, it felt like I was on top of the world, like I've seen world diferently, I got all good emotions, my friends even said ''WTF happened to you, you're different.'', I was talkative all the time, I was able to multi-task, I was more productive, more focused on things I was doing and then suddenly... puff in one night I went to sleep and the next morning I woke up and it was gone, like it was never there.
I don't know even why I got into state for a few days and I certainly don't know WhyTheFuck it's gone now.
I mean don't get me wrong, previous weeks, when I went in field I hit the state for a few hour, OK all good, but this time it just went on and on and on... until I don't know what happened.

My question to you is, can anyone explain me the reasons, why it went on for so long, why it stopped suddenly and if there is a way to get back into 'state'.
What do you guys do, to get into this headspace, during the day?

Thx K. :D

kupid.

it's growth.

you are growing as a person. it is very likely that during your four or five days of being "in state" that you learned a tremendous amount and gained a lot of intellectual value from all of those interactions that you partook in.

it just might be that you are growing as a person. what motivated you to be "in state" back then (even if it was just a brief time ago), may not be what will motivate you going forward.

being "in state" is just like positive thinking. most of the time i work really hard to be a positive person, but what "motivates" me (my ways, methods, goals) for being positive are regularly changing.

has your overall outlook on things/life/love/relationships changed lately? if so, maybe you need to rethink and regroup and find the NEW things that will put you into state. maybe you are growing from being an un-natural and changing into a natural.

good luck. :)

Good point man I never thought of it that way, all I could see was just how did this happened, not why it happened, anyway you gave me a GOOD idea :D ;)

Hey, i understand what you are saying, i have nights i am in a perfect state and others not so much, but now i started doing what rsd said to do, and it works great when i do it. Put yourself in a situation where you have social pressure, like start shouting attract attention to you and just be ridiculous. And usually after i do that i don't care about people anymore during that night. Of course the problem is you need to motivate yourself to start doing this stuff before being in state xD.
It's a bit harder than approach, but after that your approaches are way better, and you have way more fun.
This is a pratical method so you can achieve state

Sounds like a great conditioning tool for the military.

What's the point? I thought the idea is to get them attracted to you. If you don't care whether they think you're cool, an idiot, like you, or don't like you, just stay home. This way, they won't be able to think about you at all.

i think the hangup here is over semantics.

when op says: not care what other people think... i believe he means not be self-conscious to the point where he worries what others will think MORE than he allows himself to be a social person.

Yup.

Kasabi, he's not changing his personality or anthing, he just wipes off being self-conscious. Nothing wrong in doing that from time to time.

wtf? kasabi... lool if i don't care about what people think about me, i can do whatever i want to do, and i can be myself without changing my behavior to "be cool"...
I like meeting people, and i am usually a social guy, so i always talk to people, but if i am in state i am not afraid to close to be rejected and to kino escalate quicker, it's just about beeing confortable with social pressure.
An example of social pressure is :
going in the bus where everyone is quiet, and start doing something no one does, like clapping or dancing. Everyone will be looking at you, if you care about what people think of you, you will start to get really nervous and unconfortable.

The ideia is get them attracted to you?! i was talking about state... If you are in state you have fun and you convey all the things the HB's want, even if you are an idiot, you feel like a confident idiot.

Going out so you can hear people say that you are cool it's like you are everyone's bitch. I go out because I like to have fun, when i meet an HB i prefer to talk to her and have fun like we are equals, than trying to impress her beeing all smooth with techniques. In state i just think about joking around with her, kino, close.

- So you're saying you can be yourself for about 4 to 5 days a year? Who are you during the other 360 days?

Just as a reminder:

^All of this is an attempt to be "cool" and "liked" but unfortunately, your 'state' is a lie and it lasted for 4 or 5 days.

*Another reminder for newbies. The commercial guys typically get you for a weekend of credit card swiping idiocy. Their job is to wind you up for a weekend so that you'll have something to write/talk about when you go home. In the right setting, most of you could probably be convinced that you're a martial arts expert during a weekend seminar of punching and kicking. It's not that they are evil people, it's just that they're just asked to cook you a holiday roast in 10 minutes. . . and get paid for it.

Yes . . . I figure since this is a pick up forum and not a rapist forum, it would be a good idea to get them attracted to you first.

. . . And yes, I am saying that the 'state' gag is a joke and those amateur once-read-a-page-out-of-a- social psychology-text bootleggers should stick to what they know: Openers, routines, closes, and a few night club zingers to make it all go down easy. Your experience with the 'state' gag is a good example of why this joke isn't all that funny.

Can you please explain why his experience with "the state" is a bad thing?

And if being in "state" is just lying to yourself, what is being honest to yourself?

I'm asking these questions because you dismiss "the state" theory as a joke, but you don't come up with an alternative.
