| Post subject: | Movie date |
On my second date with a girl we are going to a movie. On the first date there wasn't such amazing chemistry in my opinion, and I didn't expect a second date to happen (I wasn't going to ask or contact her at all after the date). However she is cute and she is quite intelligent, so after the date she contacted me the next day and based on our interaction it was pretty clear that she wanted me to ask her out again so I decided to go ahead and do it. I've been surprised on second dates before and been proven wrong about my initial lukewarm reactions, so I'm happy to do it. Anyway here is the question: Should we be getting food (popcorn etc), or should I be getting zero food so that from the very start of the movie I can completely focus on the physical energy between us. |

And you are going on a movie date because? Movie dates are the worst date you can go on when your not in a relationship. |

there have been quite a few FRs and LRs on here that use movie dates to build kino and comfort. They recommend over the top movies that you don't have to pay attention to: Comedies, Body-count action, kids movies, or really bad movies (a la Steven Seagal) How about we put together a list of examples (especially with real life experience)? Good: Terminator, Alien vs Predator, How to Train Your Dragon, anything with a small audience Bad: Inception, Cloverfield (of all things, it was actually good enough to distract), popular new releases |

let's just clarify, are we talking going to a movie theater, or watching a movie at your place ? Going to a movie theater for a date is an absolutely HORRIBLE idea. At least when you are just getting to know her. -you can't talk -you can't concentrate on her because you want to watch the movie -you can't enjoy the movie because you are trying to think about her -it is very "relationshippy" way too early, i.e. AFC -every boring guy she has ever gone out with has taken her to the movies -it reveals your total lack of interesting date ideas, making you seem BORING. I blew two awesome opportunities with women by taking them to the movies, no never again. She can go to the movies with her girlfriends. now.............movies at home ? That can definitely work, as long as you have enough time for talking beforehand, going to blockbuster, eat a pizza while watching the movie, then sex afterward. |

I sort of disagree. First of all I'm not unbelievably interested in her just yet. Second of all we had some issues with conversation in our first date (at least in my opinion, although it seems she was satisfied)....and I intentionally wanted to do something with her this time that had me just being in her space and not needing to talk at all. I think this will help to build some comfort that was a bit lacking in the first date.Going to a movie theater for a date is an absolutely HORRIBLE idea. I know that movie dates are generally not considered ideal, and I tend to avoid them until I it's super clear that the girl is very interested in me, but I feel like being that close to someone, and feeling their energy and that kind of physical tension of being so close to each other without having to worry about saying a word, could help in this case. If I'm excited being near to her, I'll know there's some potential, and if not, probably she's going to have to fight a lot harder to keep me interested. Also I'm sure we will go to some kind of place after the movie for a little bit to talk. Also I have no interest in having sex with this girl anytime soon. |
