Guys who have reached a certain age without having lost their virginity (him), tend to get very insecure when it comes to women with more sexual experience (you). What I've picked up on is that they want to lose the V card, but it becomes harder and harder for them to do so- they become more ashamed of their age and lack of sexual adequacy with each passing year.
I believe this is the problem here. He's never had a girlfriend- he lacks experience, and he doesn't want to make a fool of himself. That's why he runs from the idea, and just says he doesn't want one:

Same story when it comes to doing anything sexual. He's insecure because of his inadequacy... you've had prior sexual partners; you can tune in to that inadequacy... you can compare him to other guys... hence:Quote:

To me it sounds like he's into you, but the cocktail of fear, shame, and ego, resulting from lack of experience, is causing him to act this way. -Roz
