Hi there, I'm not sure if this is the right section to be posting on but I have a burning query. At the moment I feel my speaking vocabulary leaves a lot to be desired, I actually think people in general aren't as articulate as they could be. How could I go about increasing my speaking vocabulary and becoming more articulate? I don't want to come across to people as too smart, just stand out a little bit. Nips |

Just try as you said to keep it at a minimum because it lacks humaness and rapport and some of the people that i know who do speak in a pseudo intellectual manner either were insecure and or a high functioning disfunctional like someone autistic. There will be some girls interested but if shes doing it as a crutch for underlying insecurity you might end up in passive knowledge battle arguments.some over the top and funny examples are found in these videos the sherminator and the ponytail dude . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJT4vzW81AY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQezXbiroiE |

Have some of mine! In addition to reading, I would suggest writing. Song lyrics, slam poetry, and rap throwdowns count. I've done many years of online debate, and I was a liberal arts major in college. Face-to-face political debate in bars also works, although mind you'll be talking to the beer at some point. |

I appreciate the comments guys, the links you posted while funny are a bit extreme in the level of articulacy. I mean I don't wanna sound clever I just don't wanna sound dumb if you know what I mean. People talk of that 'mind to speech connection' and wondered how it can be acheived? |
