Post subject:  I like you talk.... Fail.
Have any of you guys ever have a successful "I like you talk"?

Every time I drink too much (the only time I think it is a good idea to have this talks is when I'm drunk...) and end up doing this. I regret it and make an ass out of myself. I was wondering if anyone had any happy results from an "I like you talk"?

My epic fails include:

She responded with "why?" -- All I could think to my self was, "don't say she's hot" "don't' say she has a nice ass"

We ended up crying together. She told me she didn't want to break my heart because I am different than the other guys... I had people over after the bars that night. She ended up running home.... and I regretfully pursued.

P.S. As I wrote this, I realized I drink too much :). Cheers!

So what she wants to hear, is something great about her personality. Problem is, what if you're not seeing it? Or, maybe there is something there, but you don't have any easy way to articulate it? Maybe it's better to be vague and gesturing. "I don't know, but I know what I know!" Hard for a chick to pin you to a wall if you don't have a clearly articulated position that you can be pinned down upon. Not totally sure how well it would work, but I do notice that less bright, more conversational guys than myself do manage to get laid. So perhaps there's something to be said for refusing to over-analyze and specify what 'exactly' you're attracted to.

I guess the totally confident player would say, "Because you have the world's greatest tits. Now let's go fuck."

Agreed my man. I will mention, that I might have been to drunk to articulate. And, after I mustered up my response.... It was you are "unique and special"... I could have died. Funny now. But, at the time, I would have happily taken a shotgun to the face. :)

haha I can sympathize with you.

I don't think i've had a good "I like you talk" since elementary school(where the whole, crush thing was huge and girls liked a different guy each week)

but no, you pretty much explained it within your post, it shows to much interest, while losing the challenge(especially if given too soon and no interest or too much comfort has been given back)

but I sympathize with you because I had one of those silly 'i like you talks' with a girl over a year ago(in my last year of high school no doubt) I was drunk one night, and just let it all out(and stupidly implied that i wanted to have sex with her and insulted her for banging some other guy) she came back saying she "felt bad" but never felt that way for me, I was so damn embarrassed the next day, it was pretty awkward with her for pretty much the rest of high school.....

luckily i didn't tell anyone about her so it didnt really spread around school, so it wasn't TOO embarrassing.

I've had this talk before (also shit drunk - same situation as you) where it helped getting through her shield. We did end up having fun that night.

But I guess that is a one in a million case, as you more or less leave them no choice but to start a relationship with you or blow you off. Most people will not feel it is natual to start a relationship like that.

If a chick asked me "why", I would have responded "Damn, you're right. Why do I like you?" and walked away.

What an a-hole response that was for her. I would have thrown it right back in her face.
