okay, in addition to the thread entitled "the coffeeshop gambit" i have an other situation id like to work. now, i was curious about how to deal with it, but after tonight, id like to try and work this angle as well, and could use some advice. heres the story: just outside of my area, but still walking distance, theres a moneymart (cheque cashing place) its the closest SPAM to me and when a client pays me from outta town, thats where i go. theres a girl who works there, HB9 (in my opinion, prolly closer to HB7/8 to you guys) her name is jennifer. i met her months ago when i needed to get a giftcard, and she helped me when it wouldnt work. i had to go back more then half a dozen times coz of computer errors. so i got to kinda know her a bit. anyways, i see her pretty much every time im in there. she treats me differant then other customers. remembers my name, extra little effort, alot more personal kinda thing. anyhoo, tonight i had to pick up a SPAM deposit, and she was in. so i got to see her for a bit. they had JUST closed so i got to talk to her, and we talked about weekend plans etc. she said she had plans to get the UFC fight tonight and was having friends over. and it just so happens i am ordering it as well. so we talked about the fights, and turns out, shes HUGE into UFC and MMA fighting, which so am i (training and watching) so we spent a few minutes talking about that. i left, with no other actions taken, and would like to try and work this situation. any advice?? |

my advice here is the same brother! be direct. you guys have a common interest, that's great. tell her you think she's cute and interesting and you'd like to hang out with her sometime. then get her #. alternatively you can always ask what she's doing after work and go into a direct date. you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. being direct might seem like a huge gamble, but its not. it cuts through all the bullshit. i think a lot of guys assume that because going direct can be make or break, that its safer to go indirect and 'make her like me by demonstrating my awesome personality over time'. this is false. girls will give guys chances, even if they're not into them right away. in other words, you still have to game her when you go direct, you just cut through all the bullshit and avoid the friend zone. being direct has every advantage. it shows you have balls/confidence. it puts you in a position of power (there is nothing AFC about telling a girl you think she's hot and that you'd like to get to know her) you're the one qualifying her. you're inviting her into your life. and its fun! |
