I know this topic has been raised before, but I'd like to ask what I think is a more precise question about it.

A lot of traditional game, esp MM, seems to either assume that attraction is built socially, or that it's already there, and you just need to give the girl a good story so she can sleep with you and not look like a slut to her friends.

I'm extremely skeptical about the former. The latter scares me. It seems to imply that the sex rank system (e.g. 6 with 6, 7 with 7, etc.) is the real way things work. If that's true, game is bullshit. This is not purely my insecurities talking; I'm not a bad looking guy (been told by 5-8's). Rather, It's frustration that the seduction community didn't offer what I was interested in: a hack to break your sex rank and (somewhat reliably) fuck 9's and 10's.

I know there's no easy fix and never expected one, but I barely see a path right now. Is anyone else having a similar dillema?

PS: Please don't tell me the diff btwn 7/8 and 9/10 is make-up. I can see through that shit. Make-up doesn't give you tits and ass.

I used to believe that my attractiveness meant I should "settle" for girls in my "league," meaning I should never really get anything above a 7, 8 maybe on a really good day. I can honestly say that, especially recently, I have definitely been pulling way out of this so-called "league," girls that would definitely be 9s and probably 10s in many guys books. It has absolutely nothing to do with looks. As long as you PRESENT yourself as well as possible, meaning exercise, clothes, etc., you use confident bodylanguage, you display attractive qualities like humour and intelligence, and you play the game confidently, you can bag a girl of any attractiveness whatsoever. Believing anything less than that, and you're limiting yourself.

Although it might seem very true to you, what evidence do you have of it? Only first hand experience count, let's hear you rant on how sure you are this is the way things are done around here.
