| Post subject: | AIM screenname closed a telemarketer type girl-need opinions |
So this telemarketer type girl called me up and I eventually got her AIM screename (not her phone number, since I thought that would be a little too much, in my opinion, and I didn’t want to be intrusive). Basically, she worked for the alumni association for the university that I went to and she was calling people up and asking for donations. I decided to use a bunch of stuff I learned from pickup on her to see if I could get her screenname from it. So here’s a basic summary of our conversation (I’m leaving a lot of stuff out): So she called me up, asked me questions about me graduating and stuff, and then I teased her about stalking me (saying that’s how she got my number and she was obsessed with me and that’s why she called me) and she laughed and denied it. I also asked her which celebrities she likes (as in which celebrities is she attracted to), she said vince Vaughn, and I teased her by accusing her of liking Justin bieber and printing out pictures of him using the school’s printers and pasting them on her binder. She was saying stuff like “you’re really funny, I’ve never had a conversation like this before”, really enthusiastically and while laughing. When she asked me if I wanted to donate money, I teased her by playfully saying that a donation was all she cared about, and I feel insulted and I basically eventually told her (politely) that I wasn’t interested in giving a donation. Then I asked her for her AIM screenname and she gave it to me. She was always laughing throughout the conversation and we talked for about 15 minutes. I never got personal with her, though (I never told her any information about myself and never asked her any information about her). I sent her an IM a couple of days later when she signed on. I know this was just a conversation on the phone and on AIM, but I’m pretty sure I can use this as a learning experience to apply some of this stuff to real life, so I’m curious to find out what I did right and wrong.
