Post subject:  Comforting A Crying Woman

Let's say your girlfriend (or any other lady friend or even a lady) is crying in your arms over her grandmother's severe illness. What's the best thing you'd do to comfort her?

P.s: I'm not speaking of her crying after a fight or an arguement with you. This is the case when the source of her sadness is not you.

the best thing to do would be to be there and hold her. Put her head on your chest and caress her hair. Don't push it towards anything sexual. She just needs the assurance that you are there for her.

Adding a little.. Which probably makes it harder... What would you do if she was crying over the phone? The usual ''stop crying it'll all be okay soon'' is too.. Cliched don't you think?

i went through this when my ex's grandad died.

if its in person just hold her. dont say anything just let her cry into you .

if its over the phone tell her youre coming over and no matter what she says do .

during these periods its better to be a human and not a pua

A good pua would've known that these are moments where having a relationship counts.

Since she is in a heightened emotional state, now is a good time to imprint any ideas in to her head.

Thankfully I was on the right track. When we were together.. Talking of her sick grandmother in her last stage.. She cried in my arms and I said nothing but caressed her hair, (even though that was because I didn't know what to say exactly except for a warm ''shhhhhh''). Then I said something mildly funny and the topic changed.

Later on when she was crying on the phone though, I didn't exactly know what to say/do so I spoke very little.. ''alright.. Don't cry.. Bla bla''. I thought I could have done better.

Although she lives just 10 minutes away, meeting her wouldn't be possible as she lives with her parents and isn't open about our relationship to them. Nevertheless, in a different scenario, yes, meeting up is the best idea.

Any more phone tips guys? She has gone to the burial place which is quite far!

Id say goto the burial place = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPq-4u9rQC4 :D

On a serious note you cant really console someone properly over the phone you really need that physical link (imho), make em feel safe and free to express their inner self, only problem with this is the intense attachment that can follow from this 'freedom'.

Sorry for all the jokes I nearly died a few days back, while confusedly, that didnt actually bother me that much - but so for some reason Im finding humour in everything O.o

Mahn.. That's a good reference :P Except the only difference being those were players out on a hunt as strangers. If I hit on my gf's family members.. That funeral place might as well become mine :P

What about your near death experience?

Strangely tonsillitis developed into some huge 'Quincy' a mega throat abscess not the medical super slueth I may add, very late friday night. I was told by the docs I was lucky Id stayed up to watch a film otherwise since my airway was almost fully closed by the time Id got there and it was not fully developed yet! If I had left it or gone to bed earlier it would have gotten bigger and fully closed my throat up and I would have suffocated in my sleep/slipped into a coma then passed away!

I live an hour away from the closest hospital so when they saw what was going on I.E me almost forcing myself to breath they woke up and rushed a ENT surgeon in to operate on me under local instead of general anaesthetic at 4 in the morning which was 'unpleasant' to say the least, I coughed up about 2 cups of blood/puss during it lol, they put me in those single room intensive care units for the entire weekend!

Thankfully I made a quick recovery and im okay now so back to the game tonight hehe :)
