Post subject:  Went a little AFC...can my friend be saved?

Hey Guys,

My friend asked me a question about a no-text he got from a girl he recently went out with and I wanted some Forum opinion on it as well.

The story is about a girl he met at our fraternity house about a month ago, number closed etc. He took her to a date event where he told me things were going very well. I wasn't there to witness but he told me that brothers in our house were commenting on how into him the girl seemed to be. On the bus ride home he kissed closed, walked her home (like a gentleman possibly a little afc) made out a little in the doorway and went home by himself. The day after he sent her an afc text that read:

Hey I had a great time at barndance with you. You're a lot of fun! We have to hang out more often...

That was yesterday around noon and he has yet to hear back from her. its been a day and a half.

My take on the situation was that even though it was an afc text, if she wasnt interested in him anymore she still should have responded with something like "yeah i had fun too." I've met the girl before and she doesnt seem like a bitch.

My advise was to send her a text in a few days. Something witty or an inside joke that would bring her back to the fun they were having when they were actually out together. Maybe she never got the text. We dont know.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn't say that's AFC. He tried to established contact after. If she didn't respond, then I'd move on.

The willingness to back off is powerful. If she has his contact info, and they actually had a good time, I'd be willing to bet that she'll msg him eventually. If not, oh well, move on to the next one.

Hmmm maybe she felt like that message was a bit too pressurizing. By that, I mean when he said "we have to hang out more often", she was probably thinking he was no longer a challenge. She had him right in her hot little hand and could do as she pleased with him. Therefore, it seems like she is playing games.

Personally, if a guy sent that message to me, I would be like "over it! he's too easy now because he is obviously too keen".

It's classic human nature - we want what we can't have. He has just made himself SO available to her.

I agree with your advice on the inside joke thing. But then if she doesn't respond to that one, then she is clearly not interested so tell your friend to cut his losses and move on to a more receptive girl.

Could a pressuring text really turn you off that much from a guy that took you to a date event and made out with? It just seems plain rude to me to not even thank him or respond in some way.

If she's ignoring him then obviously I'm going to tell him to just move on, but I'm truly confused that she didn't send him anything at all, even if the underlying message was "im not interested even though we made out and had a great time"
