Yeah. I got a couple. "If you give me your number, I promise I'll never call" "Give me your number before I don't want it any more" Now try not to be super serious with it, cause I tried to first one and got a smile..... ME: AYYEEE, if you give me your # I PROMISE ILL NEVER CALL. HER: (smiles) then whats the point of me giving you my #? ME: Ahhh I was clearly joking (Had no idea to come back to that) HER: I don't just GIVE me # out like that....... ME: But you gave it to david??? HER: blah blah I dont know how that happened. The rest was about her wanting to buy some weed. What could I have done better with this? I feel like I failed horribly. |

I feel like the part where you went wrong is when you stated that you were joking. I feel admitting something was a joke takes away from the effect of it, and should only be done when somebody takes genuine offense to it. I'm not that experienced with PUA but i'm pretty good at jokes and this is just something i wouldn't do. (well i might but only as a mistake out of nervousness) |

Don't open asking for her number. A number is like a receipt for a day 2. It's not anything in itself. Focus on actually making a connection and finding a valid reason to hang out again with her, THEN n-close and she will be less likely to flake. |

I wouldn't use it as an opener, but if you ask her for her number later in the conversation, it portrays that cocky/funny style which would win you points - usually. |

Sorry mate, don't mean to criticize. As you said, you went wrong by saying you were joking. IMO it's because it's a null and void kind of comment; you both know you're joking, bringing it up just kills the intrigue you built with this girl. She definitely answered how you want her to - she gave you a test to see what you'd follow up with. It's your job to keep that playful intrigue going. Perhaps something like this; ME: AYYEEE, if you give me your # I PROMISE ILL NEVER CALL. HER: (smiles) then whats the point of me giving you my #? ME: Because I'll TEXT you where we're gonna meet for a coffee/drink/lunch etc. Eh, something like that ... you probably get the jist of my idea ... but I'd say something that builds on the direct approach and supreme confidence you had at the start. |

No, you're just ignoring the advice that you disagree with.DON'T OPEN LIKE THIS IT FUCKING SUCKS. ANY NUMBERS YOU DO GET WILL FLAKE, I GUARANTEE IT. You need to establish some kind of connection before you get a number otherwise they will flake. People give out their personal information to others when they have a legitimate reason to see each other again. Think about it, if a dude came up to you and was like "hey man gimme your number so we can grab a beer sometime" No matter how funny he played it, it would seem fucking WEIRD. However, if a guy came up to you and asked you directions to someplace, and you said you loved that place cuz they have the best burgers, and you guys ended up having a conversation about shit and realised you had a bunch of stuff in common, went to the same clubs, supported the same teams, and then he said "well I gotta get going but we should grab a beer and watch the game on monday" then that would be NORMAL. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? Why not tell them you think they look amazing and would be kicking yourself all day if you didn't come over and find out more about them? or ask for directions? or just say hi and introduce yourself, and notice something about them that you find interesting and do a cold read about it or ask them if they're friendly THEN get into a conversation, tell a little DHV story, ask them about themselves, tease them a little, kino a bit, ask some screening questions, qualify them a bit, THEN ask for the number. IS ANY OF THIS GETTING THROUGH? |

Let me elaborate a little more on how this went.... 1. I know her already. 2. She not that perceptive. (she took it rather seriously) 3. You're right I shouldn't open like that. Should be a cute way to get her # when I'm done with her. 4. Didn't IGNORE anything you said shit to me that I have seen and read and been told 2314564756 times. Your adive was GENERIC, DO YOOOUUU UNDERSTAND. 5. STOP TALKING TO ME PARTIAL IN CAPS TO MAKE YOUR POINT, its very condescending. |
