First approach went both good and bad. Help?

Post subject:  First approach went both good and bad. Help?
Ok so I made my first approach at the mall this weekend. I was with a group of friends. We were in a halloween section looking at slutty costumes for women (only went up there because there was an HB8 looking at them).

Anyways, I made a joke to my friends saying I should wear one of the costumes for Halloween. I turned to her and asked and she laughed and was picking out other costumes for me. After the joke sort of ran it's course I didn't really know where to take it. It got silent for a bit, and I didn't want it to get awkward so I just ended up wandering to another part of the store. I noticed she stayed for a bit before leaving. I feel like I could have gotten a number at least. Where should I have gone from there?

This stuff is still brand new to me. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

AHA!!, so she lingered around you for a little bit before leaving? She was BEGGING you to keep talking to her. The problem was you were in your head too much, censoring your thoughts. Get out of your head and u wont have a problem.

Could have asked what she was dressing up as for halloween. Why she chose that, is she a bit of a devil, "you cant wear that, our costumes will clash". You might suggest another costume (hold it up against her) and say you offer a "guarantee" that if not completely satisfied, you will offer a refund ;). then exchange numbers and go from there.

It doesnt really matter what you say, as long as the energy and humour is there. thats the most important thing!

Ask her what she was going to wear, tease her about her choices, suggest costumes for her based on what you think about her "ah you seem a little shy so I'd dress you up with this devil outfit and bring out your naughty side ;-)" After a bit more banter you could say "ok tell you what, I'll wear the pirate costume you picked out for me if you wear the devil one ok?" If she agrees, this is a lot of compliance. Pinky swear on it (great kino).

Ask her what her plans were for the night itself, tell her what you're up to, suggest she and her friends join you guys at your party or whatever. Exchange contact details, say it was fun meeting her, cheek kiss, leave. Done.
