| Post subject: | How to Deal with Moving Target going the opposite direction |
I was out and about and I was walking in the mall and coming my way I noticed a 9. by herself! (Probably at work on a break) As we passed each other I got an IOI (brushing of the hair.) THis happens to me all the time. I get IOIs but always coming from a moving target as we see each other passing by from the opposite direction. I know there is a rule against opening a moving target from the opposite direction but at the same time I don't want to waste a good opportunity. What should I do? If I turn around and follow her my value plummets. |

There is no rule. Make eye contact, smile, stand a bit in front of her and say "excuse me..." projecting your voice clearly. She will stop. Then deliver your opener. I highly suggest going direct. If you miss this opportunity then just turn around, go behind her, tap her on the arm or shoulder, and open with a smile again. If she looks startled just say "hi don't mean to startle you but..." and deliver your opener. Rather than worrying about what "rules" somebody told you, why not just go out and try stuff and see what works for you? |
