It's fine, pretty much just the same as any other opinion-based opener. |

It's wrong in many ways imo. First, does she actually even care? It's just another lame question she gets. Second, lots of girls are twilight 'fans' and think those guys are hot, calling them gay would be just an insult and probably gets you into a confrontation rather than an interesting chat. Third, by calling someone gay you'll be putting 'gay' in her head and she could easily dis you by saying 'No, but you do!' just for the fun of it. Don't take it the wrong way, but it's better to prevent than to cure. |

The only way to truly know if an opener is good or not is to go out and field test it. When I feel like doing opinion openers I change then every time based on whatever I've just read recently or a conversation I'm actually having with a friend. That way they're fresh, congruent and I'm actually interested in her response. Keep the ones that get good, animated responses and from which you are easily able to transition, and drop the ones that don't work. Also, how you deliver it and if it's congruent with your personality and style of humour is important. Mystery has successfully opened by giving a girl the middle finger and then a cheeky grin. I'm sure most of us would get a glass in the face if we used that but he's able to do it in a confident, congruent way and so it can work for him. Find your style and just keep trying shit out for yourself, don't worry if people say it's good or bad on here, what matters is finding what works for YOU. |
