Do you hang with wingmen or with people who are better at that game than you are? Ive been reading The Game for the first time and this thought crossed my mind, What is the best way to learn? |

Learn by doing. If you're not doing, then any reading/discussion/theorizing is just fluff. Once you are actually out interacting with people, then, and only then, do you get the chance to start internalizing the different ideas you come across through other mediums. Pickup is not a test to study for, it's a performed art. You can read the music for a song you want to play on guitar, analyze the different principles at work in it's composition, reflect on the techniques suggested, but if you don't actually play it you're not going to move anyone when you step on stage. My two cents. |

After re-reading your post, and prying the soap-box off my feet, I figured I would add a little on to what I wrote. I think this comes down to personal style. How do you like to learn? Some people dig books, others like to discuss the material with someone else, others like to see it in action. I like to read and discuss information to better understand it, that's the approach I take to most things in life I'd like to know about. There's something about explaining an idea to someone else that helps you explore it in a new way, I find it incredibly powerful. Yet, I found myself blown away by how much I learned by winging with a really skillful PUA in my area. Watching him use tonality, body language, time constraints, all in a way that felt like a genuine extension of who he was (which is exactly what was going on) really helped me understand that all the knowledge in the world wouldn't help me unless I invested the time to harmonize the principles with who I am. This gave me more confidence to pursue pickup as personal development, in concert with the different facets of my personality, rather than a skill to be acquired in a vacuum. Subsequently, I highly recommend winging with others and observing how they socialize, I really think it will help anyone practicing this stuff see things in a different light. |

Hands on is always the best learning method obviously. but if you happen to be a guy, that doesn't have much natural swagger with women. then i can see how this would be frustrating, since youre just going to crash and burn without a few groundwork priciples to start with. in that case, try reading here about the different styles that people use eg: mystery method, cocky&funny, etc. and decide which one(or which combination), best suit your natural personality. Then go out and practice. in time, you can teach yourself methods that arent very natural to you, but at first you want to go with a style that comes off natural when you talk to women. it will make it easier to do. |

the thing is you can study theory, but if you cant put it into a practice your gonna get stuck and the thing is we learn by mistake, no one is born a genius |

^^Im not bad with woman, I just obviously want to be amazing, I completely agree your post and appreciatein that case, try reading here about the different styles that people use eg: mystery method, cocky&funny, etc. and decide which one(or which combination), best suit your natural personality. My problem is that I gotta do this on my own so far I cant find a PUA in my area to observe&learn from. (Toronto) |

You can practice all you want in front of a mirror, or read all the books in the world. Hell, you can practice it in front of your guy friends. But all that is completely useless if you don't actually try it on girls. The best way to learn is to do. When you approach girls, you actually FEEL the real emotions and nerves that get to you and try to prevent you from even appraoching. You won't feel these in front of a mirror or ur guy friends. Just keep trying. There are women all over the world. This world is a lot bigger than your city/town/farm that you live in. Who cares, just do it. |
