She works at the dining hall and is always busy there. In the 7-8 range. We've only exchanged some meaningful eye contact . I've not been able to talk to her yet since her job does not normally involve talking to people and there are always a lot of people and some of her coworkers around. I should 'open' her before long otherwise she may think (and may already be guessing) that I'm an AFC. I have to pass in front of her at least once a day.

What I can think of is the old trick of writing my contact info (with some words) on a piece of paper and giving it to her for some excuse. There is a guy in the dept who draws a cartoon each day and copies of it are circulated by the students. It may be a good idea to write the stuff on the back of the cartoon and give it to her an say "Have you seen this?"

This sounds kind of 'strike and run' though. Any suggestions?

I'd... say go for it. If you've had some eye contact, this might well be a DHV/PUA move.

OP.. thats a tricky situation. What you need is a FAST pick-up. To get IN and get OUT ASAP.

I think the best approach is the old "I'm in a rush.. give me your number" approach.

Basically when you pass by her walk over and say: "Hi, do you have a few seconds?" Before she finishes responding tell her: "I think you're very cute and I know your busy at work. I want to text you on your next break when you have some time. What is your number?"

This should work. As long as you do it with confidence and charm.
