I'm 16, so I associate with girls around my age (15-17) mostly. One thing I've realized that girls tend to do: reject compliments. They don't believe a compliment, so they say 'no, that's not true'. This results in one of two things: awkward silence because I don't have a response, or me arguing the compliment back to her, which is just pointless. So what is a good way to respond to a girl disagreeing with you? If I say 'you're pretty', and she says 'no i'm not', what's a good response? Note: I know if a girl rejects a compliment that it shows lack of confidence, and who wants that? But I'm still asking, for future reference. |

Rule for PUA: don't comment on the obvious. I rarely comment on her look, if in an case I do, it would be a neg like "you're lucky you're cute" or "you're kute... like my lil sister". You wanna comment her tastes instead. By any chance, if she reject your comment, either ignore it or being C&F because those girls tend to be a lil insecured, that's why they are being modest and reject the comments. So it's best not to neg her too much since that will bring her down. |

With girls in highschool, be more specific. Don't just say "you look hot." Say, "I like your nails (or shoes, dress, outfit, hair, etc.)" I actually learned that from a girl in highschool |

Or just call her on it. Say something about how she's obviously very bad at taking a compliment, and how that shows that she's being insecure. It argues the point that the compliment was truthful without you having to argue it expressively yourself, it shows that you have the integrity not to say "och yeah, I totally mean it" thus getting caught on her compliment fish-hook, it DHVs by making you seem like you know her sooo well and it makes her qualify yourself to you. And while it strengthens the original compliment, it negs her in saying that she's insecure, so you neg her without bringing her down. |
